Omnissa Access 26.07

Omnissa Access 26.07 is the successor to versions 24.12.x and is built on an entirely new architecture. In previous releases, Omnissa Access was delivered as a single, self-contained virtual appliance. Beginning with 26.07, Omnissa Access is delivered as a set of containerized microservices that run on a Control Plane — an automated platform that installs, runs, scales, and monitors the services that make up Omnissa Access.

IMPORTANT: Because it is based on a new deployment architecture rather than an update to the existing appliance, Omnissa Access 26.07 is available as a new installation only. Upgrade from any prior Omnissa Access virtual appliance version is not supported.

Although the underlying architecture is new, day-to-day administration of Omnissa Access is similar to previous versions.

  • The admin console is largely unchanged from previous releases.
  • The Omnissa Access Connector activation process and experience remain the same.

Omnissa Access 26.07 continues to include Hub Services, a service co-located with Omnissa Access that lets you design and set up how employees use the Workspace ONE® Intelligent Hub app to access, discover, and connect with corporate resources, teams, and workflows within a company. Users use the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub app on devices or the Hub portal in a web browser to access the employee engagement features.

What's New

NEW, AUG 10 2026 - Access Deployment Wizard

A new Access Deployment Wizard is now available to help streamline a part of the Omnissa Access 26.07 on-premises deployment process. The wizard consolidates many of the manual configuration steps into a guided, automated workflow. You can use the wizard as an alternative to performing these steps manually. The wizard collects the required information, generates configuration files, validates inputs, and executes deployment tasks in the correct order, helping reduce complexity and minimize errors.

You can download the wizard zip file (access-wizard-26.07.zip) from Omnissa Customer Connect. For instructions on using the wizard, see Phase 3, Option 1 - Deploy Omnissa Access Using the Access Wizard in the Installing Omnissa Access guide.

Microservices

While previous versions of Omnissa Access were delivered as a single service running inside a virtual appliance, Omnissa Access 26.07 has been re-architected as a set of independent services, each running as a separate workload orchestrated by a Control Plane. Because the services are decoupled, they can be updated, restarted, scaled, and recovered individually.

The new model also aligns the on-premises product with Omnissa Access Cloud, bringing capabilities that were previously cloud-only to on-premises deployments. See New Features.

New Control Plane Architecture

Omnissa Access 26.07 introduces a new deployment model based on the Control Plane framework, replacing the previous OVA-based virtual appliance. The Control Plane orchestrates all platform, infrastructure, and Access application services across a cluster of dedicated virtual machines using Nomad, Consul, and Vault.

Version 26.07 includes the following components:

  • Platform Services:

    • Nomad: For workload orchestration
    • Consul: For service discovery and internal communication
    • Vault: For managing secrets, certificates, tokens
  • Infrastructure Services:

    • PostgreSQL: Database
    • Redis: Cache and queues
    • Kafka: Event streaming and messaging
    • OpenSearch: Analytics
  • Omnissa Access application services: A set of microservices that constitute Omnissa Access 26.07.

You manage the deployment from a single location, a bootstrap node.

Command-Line Interface

A new command-line interface, the WSO CLI, is the primary interface for deploying and administering Omnissa Access 26.07.

New Features

Omnissa Access 26.07 includes the following new features, which were previously available in Omnissa Access Cloud only. With the new microservices and Control Plane architecture, these features are now available for on-premises deployments for the first time.

  • Authentication methods and features

    • Pass App Basic (push notifications are not supported)
    • FIDO2
    • Mobile SSO (for Apple)
    • Platform SSO (for macOS)
    • Verify (Intelligent Hub)
    • DUO Security
    • Token Auth Adapter
    • Choice of authentication access policy rules
  • OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect

    • Proof Key for Code Exchange (PKCE) support for OpenID Connect applications
    • Public and confidential OAuth 2.0 user access clients
    • Cross Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) support for OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect endpoints
    • Password validation with third-party identity providers
  • Custom application-specific access policies

  • IP Address-based session token binding

  • Integration with SIEM systems - Syslog, Splunk, and CrowdStrike

  • Omnissa Identity Service on premises

Omnissa Identity Service

Omnissa Identity Service is now bundled with Omnissa Access 26.07 for on-premises deployments. Omnissa Identity Service integrates Omnissa products and services with third-party cloud-based identity providers such as Microsoft Entra ID and Okta for user provisioning and identity federation, enabling centralized user management across the Omnissa platform.

Deprecated Features

Omnissa Access 26.07 does not include the built-in Key Distribution Center (KDC) used with the Mobile SSO (for iOS) authentication method. Omnissa recommends using the Mobile SSO (for Apple) authentication method instead.

Before You Begin

  • Databases: PostgreSQL (included with Omnissa Access asset bundle)

  • Omnissa Access Connector: Omnissa Access Connector version 26.05 is compatible with Omnissa Access 26.07.

See Omnissa Access Connector Release Notes for details about the connector.

For the latest compatibility information, see the Omnissa Product Interoperability Matrix.

System Requirements

Omnissa Access 26.07 has significantly higher infrastructure and resource requirements than previous appliance-based versions. Review the system requirements and sizing information in Installing Omnissa Access before planning your deployment.

Installation

Omnissa Access 26.07 is available as a new installation only. Upgrade from previous Omnissa Access versions to version 26.07 is not supported.

You can download Omnissa Access 26.07 from Omnissa Customer Connect. Download the following files:

  • OVA: alma-minimal-9.6-20260714-093937-minimal.ova
  • Omnissa Access asset bundle: Access-asset-bundle-26.07.0.0-528-eb05a4e.zip
  • Omnissa Access deployment wizard: access-wizard-26.07.zip

For detailed step-by-step instructions on deploying Omnissa Access, see the Installing Omnissa Access guide.

Upgrade

Upgrade from previous Omnissa Access versions to version 26.07 is not supported. There is no upgrade path from any prior Omnissa Access virtual appliance version. A fresh installation is required.

Due to architectural changes introduced with the new microservices-based platform, Omnissa recommends performing a side-by-side migration. Customers running 24.12.x should deploy a new 26.07 environment and migrate from the legacy deployment to the new solution.

For the Omnissa Access Connector, see the Omnissa Access Connector Release Notes for supported upgrade paths and procedures.
