Limited Availability
Horizon 8 offers Horizon Delegate with limited availability.
Horizon Delegate is now production-ready and available through a Limited Availability (LA) program for Horizon 8.
To request access to the Limited Availability program, contact horizon-delegate-request@omnissa.com, Omnissa sales representative, or Omnissa partner.
The Horizon Delegate ADMX template file (hzn_agent_horizondelegate.admx) contains group policy settings that control Horizon Delegate features in remote desktops. To add the template to Active Directory, see Add the Horizon Delegate ADMX Template in Active Directory.
The settings are located in the Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Omnissa Horizon Agent > Horizon Delegate folder in the Group Policy Management Editor. The settings are also available in the corresponding User Configuration folder.
If you do not configure a setting, Horizon Delegate uses the default value listed in the tables.

Resource management settings
These settings control how long Horizon Delegate keeps resources available. See Horizon Delegate Resource Lifecycle Settings.
| Group Policy Setting | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Idle runtime keep-alive (milliseconds) | How long Horizon Delegate keeps an active runtime session after the client disconnects and no request is running. When this time expires, the session is disconnected to free resources, and it is re-established on the next user request. Set to 0 to disconnect immediately when the client disconnects. | 300000 (5 minutes) |
| Enable runtime session management | Controls whether Horizon Delegate manages runtime sessions across client connections and completed requests. Disable this setting only as an emergency rollback. | Enabled |
| Runtime session keep-alive after turn (milliseconds) | How long an idle runtime session is kept for reuse after a request completes. A longer time reduces response time for consecutive requests. Set to 0 to disable this timeout. While the client stays connected, the session is kept; after the client disconnects, the Idle runtime keep-alive setting applies. | 900000 (15 minutes) |
| Turn inactivity timeout (milliseconds) | The longest time a running request can make no progress before Horizon Delegate stops it. Set to 0 to disable this timeout. | 600000 (10 minutes) |
| Turn abort grace period (milliseconds) | How long Horizon Delegate waits for a request to stop after an inactivity timeout or a cancellation before it cleans up the request. Set to 0 to clean up immediately. | 15000 (15 seconds) |
