Deploying the Omnissa Monitor Appliance

Omnissa Monitor is delivered as an OVA appliance for deployment on your vCenter/vSphere infrastructure. The steps below guide you through the end-to-end deployment process using the vSphere Client. Download the Omnissa Monitor OVA from Customer Connect, and validate all prerequisites.

Deploying through vCenter

  1. Launch the OVF Deployment Wizard
Right-click the target cluster in the vSphere Client inventory and select Deploy OVF Template.

  2. Select the OVA Source
Select the pre-downloaded OVA template. Choose URL to paste the download link, or Local file to browse to the .ova file. Click Next.

  3. Name and Folder
Enter a display name for the VM (recommended: omnissa-monitor-appliance-2609.0.0) and select the destination folder. Click Next.

  4. Select Compute Resource
Select the destination compute resource (cluster, host, or resource pool). Confirm Compatibility checks succeeded, then click Next.

  5. Review Template Details
    Review the template details:
Product = Omnissa Monitor Appliance, Version = 2609 (Example), Download Size ~8.3 GB, Disk ~300 GB. Click Next.

  6. Accept License Agreement
Read the Omnissa end-user license agreement, check I accept all license agreements, and click Next.

  7. Select Storage
Select a datastore with at least 300 GB free space. Choose the VM Storage Policy and click Next.

  8. Select Network
Map the appliance network to the appropriate destination network (distributed switch or standard switch). Ensure connectivity to Horizon CS, UAGs, DNS, and NTP. Click Next.

  9. Customize Template > Network Properties
In the Customize template dialog, configure all required networking properties (static IP, gateway, netmask, DNS servers, domain name) and set the root password. Review all settings on the Ready to complete screen, then click Finish to begin deployment.

  10. Post-Deployment
Once the OVA deploys and the VM powers on, select the VM in vCenter and click Launch Remote Console. Log in with login: root and the root password set during deployment.
