In the Advanced tab, you can configure file processing, skipping large or old files, OS-specific settings, and User Environment settings.
Config File Processing
FlexEngine usually processes all configuration files in the General folder that the user has NTFS read access to at logon and logoff. To change this process, turn off the Process during logon and logoff option. Use this option to deactivate processing of a Flex configuration file. The option is also automatically turned off if you activate DirectFlex for a Flex configuration file.
Skip Files
You can optionally specify a maximum size using the Do not export files larger than __ kilobytes option and a maximum age for files that are included in a profile archive using the Do not export files older than __ days option.
- If files larger than the specified size are encountered, they are skipped and the filename and size are added to the log file, if logging is activated.
- Files that were last modified more than the specified number of days ago are skipped, while logging the filenames and last modification dates.
OS-specific Settings
The profile archives created by Dynamic Environment Manager can be used across different Windows versions. For instance, settings saved for an application on Windows XP can be imported on Windows 7.
To manage certain settings per OS, click Settings are OS-specific. If you activate it, profile archives created on a certain Windows version will only be read back in sessions that are running on that same Windows version.
User Environment Settings
To allow configuring user environment settings for a non-DirectFlex config file, select the Available for both DirectFlex and non-DirectFlex config files option. By default, the Only available for DirectFlex config files option is selected.
