What's New

The Memcached Integration Release Notes detail the new features and enhancements in each release. This page contains a summary of the new capabilities, issues that have been resolved, and known issues that have been reported in each version over the last 12 months.

  • Compatibility & Platform Support

    • Implemented additional logging for Memcached installation module.

New Features - 1.6.37.3

  • Compatibility & Platform Support

    • Validated and optimized for RHEL version 8.10 — now the recommended deployment target.

      • Continues to support RHEL 8.x versions.
    • RHEL 7.x support has been deprecated due to evolving library and packaging dependencies.

New Features - 1.6.37.1

  • SSL Encryption

    • Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption configuration ensures that the communication between Workspace ONE UEM and the caching server are encrypted. This encryption is secured with a certificate credential which must be trusted on both the caching server as well as all Workspace ONE UEM service endpoints.
  • SASL Authentication

    • Simple Authentication and Security Layer (SASL) Authentication configuration adds an additional security layer of username/password authentication to all caching servers. This configuration is enabled and will prompt for username and password. Username and password set at the console level and used for all communications at the caching endpoint. After configuration in the console is complete, ensure that the caching install is running using the same username and password information.

Resolved Issues

1.6.37.3

  • SINST-176599 - Memcached versioning scheme improved to add consistency across package updates.

  • SINST-176595 - Superseding Memcached versions can now be installed without requiring manual uninstallation of previous instances.

  • SINST-176591, SINST-176600, and SINST-176601 - Strengthened handling of all service credentials and enforced minimum permissions across core service layers for a more secure deployment.

  • SINST-176609 - Implemented full support for memcached-monitor service.

Note: The SASL standalone implementation method has been removed to streamline and standardize authentication approaches and ensure monitor service compatibility.

1.6.37.1

  • SINST-176568 - Hardened Memcached Installer logging structure to parameterize entries provided during the installation process.

  • SINST-176589 - Updated command context to prevent the need for any SUDO context during the installation procedure.
