Omnissa Workspace ONE Boxer for Android Release Notes

Action Required - Update ENS (Email Notification Service) CNS (Cloud Notification Service) URL by June 30

All ENS onprem customers must update their configuration to ensure uninterrupted iOS and Android Boxer notifications.

If your organization filters outbound traffic via domain name, please follow this link to ensure you make the proper firewall changes: KB article.

Action Required for Exchange Online Customers: Grant Microsoft Graph API Permissions

Due to Microsoft’s planned retirement of Exchange Web Services (EWS) in Exchange Online on October 1, 2026, Workspace ONE Boxer now relies on Microsoft Graph API for certain functionalities.
To ensure uninterrupted access to email, calendar, online meeting creation in Teams and Zoom, and related features, Exchange Online administrators must grant the necessary Microsoft Graph API permissions. Failure to do so might result in synchronization issues.

No changes are required for Exchange On-prem customers.

For more information about the retirement of Exchange Web Services (EWS) in Exchange Online, see this Microsoft article.

Google Workspace Accounts Support Changes in Workspace ONE Boxer

Google has ended support for Google Sync, affecting Workspace ONE Boxer users who access Google Workspace accounts. As of September 30, 2024, these users can no longer access Gmail through Workspace ONE Boxer. However, personal Gmail accounts remain unaffected. For more information about the support changes, see this KB article.

Workspace ONE Boxer 26.06 for Android - June 2026

  • New Features
  • Minimum Requirements
  • Resolved Issues
  • Known Issues

New Features

  • Read Receipts Management

    • End users can now control whether read receipts are sent when requested by the sender.

    • This feature is turned off by default and must be enabled by an administrator in Workspace ONE UEM by setting an application level KVP,AppEnableSuppressReadReceipts to True.

    • After the feature is enabled in Workspace ONE UEM, users can configure their preference using Send read receipts, a Workspace ONE Boxer setting:

      • Always - read receipts are sent automatically without prompting.

      • Never - read receipts are never sent, regardless of the sender's request.

      • Ask - a prompt appears within the email, allowing the user to decide on a per-message basis.

  • Round-trip between Workspace ONE Boxer and Workspace ONE Content

    • Pre-requisite: Ensure that Workspace ONE Boxer and Workspace ONE Content have 26.06 and later versions.

    • End users can seamlessly send files from Workspace ONE Boxer to Workspace ONE Content, edit the files, and return the files to the original email thread (in Workspace ONE Boxer). This feature streamlines cross application workflows while maintaining context and avoiding the need to start a new conversation.

    • End users can control this feature using a Enable files roundtripping with Content feature flag, which is enabled by default. This feature is available in Settings > Advanced > Enable features.

  • Enable OAuth Email Mismatch Check

EnableOAuthEmailMismatchCheck is an application-level KVP. When enabled, Workspace ONE Boxer compares the identity returned by OAuth token claims against the expected email account or username. If the token claims do not match with the expected values, sign-in is blocked with an authentication mismatch error message.

By default, the value of this KVP is true. When the KVP is set to false, this mismatch check is skipped.

Workspace ONE Boxer 26.02 for Android - February 2026

  • New Features
  • Minimum Requirements
  • Resolved Issues
  • Known Issues

New Features

  • AI email summarization

Pre-requisites: The Android devices must support the Gemini Nano AI model and this must be downloaded on the device using Wi-Fi.

    • Workspace ONE Boxer for Android integration with Gemini Nano via ML Kit brings instant summarization of complex emails and long threads. All data processing occurs within a secure local sandbox on the Android device, guaranteeing that sensitive information never leaves the device and remains completely confidential. Currently, the functionality is available only for standalone enrollment. Although the Al model can understand multiple languages when provided as input, the AI summary is always provided in English.

    • This feature can be deployed by administrators setting the EnableAIEmailSummarization account-level KVP to true in the Workspace ONE UEM console.

When the KVP is set to true, the users can control this feature in their devices using the Activate AI email summarization check box, present in Workspace ONE Boxer Settings. By default, the check box is not selected.

Note: If the Android device does not support Gemini Nano AI model or the KVP is set to false, then this check box is not available in Workspace ONE Boxer Settings.

    • When the check box is selected, a Summarize button is available in the email screen.

  • Mention with @

Prerequisite: The Rich text compose feature must be turned on. This feature is present in Advanced settings > Enable features.

This feature allows an email sender to mention specific recipients within the message body, helping draw attention to important messages or action items.

Workspace ONE Boxer 26.01 for Android - January 2026

  • New Features
  • Minimum Requirements
  • Resolved Issues
  • Known Issues

New Features

  • Microsoft 365 Avatars

    • This feature uses Microsoft Graph API to prioritize the retrieval of high resolution user avatars for Microsoft 365 accounts. If the Graph API fails or does not return an image, Workspace ONE Boxer uses Global Address List (GAL) images instead.

    • The following prerequisites are required for this functionality:

      • Ensure that Microsoft Exchange Online is used.

      • Ensure that access to Microsoft Graph API is allowed.

    • Avatar updates occur every hour. As a result, a user can view changes to their avatar on an hourly basis. Whereas the others can view the updated avatar of the user every 24 hours.
Note: Avatars are fetched only for users from within the same organization.

    • To activate the Microsoft 365 Avatars in Workspace ONE Boxer, an end user can navigate to Settings and turn on the Graph Avatars for O365 Accounts toggle.
By default, this toggle is turned off.

  • XML-Based Autodiscover Option

    • JSON (v2) Autodiscover can detect incorrect endpoints, resulting in authentication failures. To resolve this problem, administrators can force Workspace ONE Boxer to use the XML (v1) Autodiscover protocol, bypassing JSON lookups.

    • If users have authentication errors, the AccountUseAutodiscoverV1 KVP must be set to True in the Workspace ONE UEM console.
By default, the value of the KVP is false

        • When the KVP is configured as true and the IsVerboseLoggingEnabled KVP is set to true, a check box Activating Plain Text Logging is presented to the end users in Advanced settings.

        • When the check box is selected, plain text logging is activated which means that sensitive data is not masked and collected during logging.
