Edit an Application Pool

You can edit an existing application pool to configure settings such as display name, version, publisher, path, start folder, parameters, and description. You cannot change the ID or access group of an application pool.

You can also enable or disable the Cloud Managed flag on an existing application pool from the Edit Pool wizard. Enabling Cloud Managed makes the application pool suitable for use with Universal Broker and multi-cloud assignments. The Cloud Assigned flag is read-only and is set automatically by the system when the pool is added to a Horizon Cloud pool group.

Prerequisites

  • Familiarize yourself with the settings of an application pool.
  • You might need to configure an anti-affinity rule to ensure that Connection Server launches the application only on RDS hosts that have sufficient resources to run the application.

Procedure

  1. In Horizon Console, select Inventory > Applications.

  2. Select a pool and click Edit.

  3. Make changes to the pool settings.

  4. To enable or disable Cloud Managed for the pool, on the Application Pool Settings page, select or clear the Cloud Managed option.

When you select Cloud Managed, a confirmation dialog appears. The dialog explains that marking the application pool as Cloud Managed will sync it to the Horizon Cloud control plane, that entitlements must be created and managed from the Horizon Universal Console, and that existing local entitlements will no longer be editable from this console. Click Confirm to proceed or Cancel to abort.

  5. Click OK.

Remove Cloud Entitlements

If you enabled Cloud Managed on an existing application pool that had local entitlements, remove all local entitlements from the pool by selecting the pool on the Applications page and selecting Entitlements > Remove Entitlements. Entitlements for Cloud-managed application pools must be managed from the Horizon Universal Console.
