Limited Availability: Enable Horizon Delegate for a Desktop Pool

After installing Horizon Agent with the Horizon Delegate feature, enable Horizon Delegate for the desktop pool in Horizon Console. Entitled users will see the Horizon Delegate icon on the Launch Items page for supported desktops in that pool. After connecting to a desktop, users can use the Horizon Delegate icon in the sidebar to open or close Horizon Delegate during their session.

Important: The Enable Horizon Delegate setting appears in Horizon Console only after Horizon Delegate has been enabled at the server level. For server-level configuration details, contact Omnissa.

Prerequisites

• Verify that Horizon Delegate is enabled at the server level. If the Enable Horizon Delegate setting does not appear in the desktop pool settings, contact Omnissa to get the server-level configuration details.
• Verify that Horizon Agent with the Horizon Delegate feature is installed on the machines in the desktop pool. See Installing Horizon Agent with the Horizon Delegate Feature Enabled.
• Verify that the pool is a pool of full desktops. Horizon Delegate does not support published application pools.

Procedure

1. In the Horizon Admin Console, navigate to the desktop pool you want to configure.
2. Select the desktop pool and click Edit.
3. Go to Desktop Pool Settings.
4. Turn on the Enable Horizon Delegate toggle.
5. Save your changes.

Results

When an entitled user launches a desktop from this pool in the Horizon Web Client, entitled users will see the Horizon Delegate icon on the Launch Items page for supported desktops in that pool.
