PowerShell deployment to Hyper-V

Unified Access Gateway supports Hyper-V deployments for secure remote access to Horizon 8 and Workspace ONE environments.

Pre-requisites to deploy Unified Access Gateway on Hyper-V

Adequate privileges to deploy virtual machine on Hyper-V.
Downloaded.vhdx file.
- From the Omnissa Customer Connect, go to Unified Access Gateway (UAG) for Microsoft Hyper-V file and click DOWNLOAD NOW.
  A zip file euc-unified-access-gateway-x.x.x.x-xxxxxxxx_OVF10-vhdx.zip is downloaded on your local machine.
- Extract the .vhdx file from the .zip file.

Recommended Operating Systems for running the PowerShell deployment script

The following table lists the operating systems from which PowerShell based Unified Access Gateway deployment to Hyper-V can be executed. This does not refer to the operating system of the Unified Access Gateway appliance itself.

Prepare the .ini file

To prepare the .ini file, configure the General settings and include the parameters mentioned in the following table. For more information about configuring [General] section parameters, see PowerShell deployment parameters.

Hyper-V specific settings

Ensure to configure these additional parameters in the [General] section.

INI Parameter	Description
ds	Datastore name which the appliance is deployed to. Example: `ds=Local Disk 1`
netBackendNetwork	The name of the UAG backend network.
netInternet	The name of the UAG primary network.
netManagementNetwork	The name of the UAG management interface network.
source	Use the source file you downloaded from the Customer Connect portal. Enter the full path filename of the UAG `.vhdx` virtual machine image. Example: `C:\Users\Administrator\VHDX\euc-unified-access-gateway-21.00.0.0-13578272_OVF10.vhdx`

Deploy Unified Access Gateway to Hyper-V

You can deploy Unified Access Gateway to Hyper-V by using the uagdeploy.ps1 PowerShell command.

From the Omnissa Customer Connect, go to Unified Access Gateway (UAG) PowerShell Scripts file and click DOWNLOAD NOW.
A zip file uagdeploy-xx.xx.x.x-xxxxxxxx is downloaded on your local machine.
Extract the files from the zip file. Ensure that the following PowerShell scripts are available on your machine.
uagdeploy.psm1 and uagdeployhv.ps1
Open PowerShell window and run the following command:
.\uagdeployhv.ps1 hyperv.ini
Enter the root user password, admin password when prompted. For more information about the root user and admin password requirements, see Password requirements.
Alternatively, you can use non-interactive mode to deploy. For more information about the non-interactive parameters, see Non-Interactive mode deployment parameters.
After successful deployment, virtual machine is created on the Hyper-V.

What to do next

Using the IP information, login to the virtual machine to ensure all services are working as expected.
Login to the admin UI with https://uag-ip:9443 and configure the settings based on your requirement. See Configure Horizon Settings.
