Set a Marker on an App Volumes Package

To manage entitlements through marker assignments, you must add a marker to a package. A marker can be added to a package using the SET MARKER functionality. As a result, the entity always receives the package which is set with this marker even when the marker is moved from one package to another.

If this package is in a synchronization relationship with a package on a source instance and the marker synchronization setting is activated on the source, you cannot perform the SET MARKER operation for this package from this instance. The set marker operation is deactivated on this instance (target) and can be performed only from the source instance by using the Manage Source button.

For more information about the manage source feature, see Manage a Synchronized App Volumes Application at the Source. For information about marker synchronization criteria, see Criteria for Application Synchronization.

Prerequisites

For information about markers, see Understand App Volumes Markers.

Procedure

  1. From App Volumes Manager, go to INVENTORY > Packages.

  2. Expand the package details of the desired package.

  3. Click the package that has completed the packaging process.

Status of the package which has completed the packaging process is Enabled.

  4. Review the package information and click SET MARKER.

  5. In the Set Marker window, select the required marker, and click Save.

Package is set with the selected marker.

Note: This marker becomes unavailable for any other package in the same application. To use this marker again, you must first remove the marker from the current package and then set the marker on another package. To remove the marker, see Unset a Marker on an App Volumes Application Package.
