A targeted package-level replication is an administrator-initiated, on-demand replication of a specific package replicating across target storage defined in a Storage Group. You can initiate replication if the required settings in the Storage Group are configured. This replication is different from the automated Replicate operation on the Storage Groups page, which replicates the entire storage group.
For information about storage groups, see Configure Storage Groups in App Volumes Manager.
Prerequisites
- Ensure that the package is present in at least one storage group.
- Ensure that the Stages to Replicate setting of that storage group includes the current lifecycle stage of the package. For more information about this setting, see Configure Storage Groups in App Volumes Manager. For information about package lifecycle stages, see Pre-defined Lifecycle Stages of an App Volumes Package.
Note: If the package does not meet these requirements, the Replicate option is deactivated and the following message is displayed: This package is not present in any storage location group configured for its current lifecycle stage.
Procedure
-
From App Volumes Manager, go to INVENTORY > Packages.
-
Perform one of the following:
- Expand the package row and click Replicate.
- Click the package name and, on the package details page, click Replicate.
-
On the Confirm Replicate Package dialog box, review the list of storage groups where the package is present, and click Replicate.
Results
A background job is scheduled to replicate the package. Only the selected package is replicated.
