Browser Content Redirection on Horizon Linux Agent

The Browser Content Redirection feature is installed by default with the Horizon Linux Agent.

Steps to Deploy Browser Content Redirection on Linux Agent

  1. Ensure the Horizon Linux Agent is installed on the Linux virtual machine. If needed, follow the steps in Install Horizon Agent on a Linux Machine.
  2. Download and install Google Chrome on the agent system.
  3. Install the Horizon Browser Content Redirection Extension.
Access the Chrome Web Store and install the Horizon Browser Redirection extension.
  4. Install the Horizon Linux Agent required packages:
Ubuntu and Debian sudo apt install libnss3-tools
RHEL and Rocky sudo yum install nss-tools
SLED and SLES sudo zypper install mozilla-nss-tools
  5. Edit the /etc/omnissa/config file to enable and configure Browser Content Redirection. html5mmr.bcr.enableBCR=true
  6. Set URL Whitelist: Define which URLs are allowed for Browser Content Redirection
    Example: html5mmr.bcr.urlWhiteList=https://www.google.com/*;https://*.*
  7. Reboot the Linux VM to apply the changes.

## Cache Management for Browser Content Redirection (Linux Clients)

On Linux systems, Browser Content Redirection (BCR) uses Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF) processes that store cache data locally on the client device. Cache data can persist across sessions and grow over time.

Administrators can configure cache size limits and stale cache eviction settings in the Horizon Client configuration file to control disk usage.

For more information about cache configuration settings and behavior, see Install and Configure Browser Content Redirection.

Limitations

The client machine’s network must be able to reach the specified URLs in the whitelist.
