Create a Custom Marker in App Volumes Manager

In App Volumes Manager, you can define and manage custom markers and manage entitlements through marker assignments in addition to package assignment. The default CURRENT marker continues to be available.

Prerequisites

Custom markers are defined at the App Volumes Manager instance level and are available to every application in that instance. For information about how markers behave and where they are displayed, see Understand App Volumes Markers.

Procedure

1. In the App Volumes Manager admin UI, navigate to CONFIGURATION > Markers.

2. In the Markers page, click Create.

3. In the Create Marker window, enter the following details:

   Option	Action
   Name	Enter a name for the marker. Ensure that you follow the guidelines while choosing the marker name.
   Color	Select a color for the marker.
   Description	(Optional) Enter text that records what the marker is used for.

   Result: The Preview field displays the marker preview.

4. Click Save.

   Result: The new marker is added to the Markers list. If there are already other markers, then the newly added marker is assigned the lowest priority by default.

5. (Optional) To reorder or change the priority of this marker, click REORDER, drag the row to the required position in the list, and click Save Order.
   

   Result: App Volumes Manager updates the priority of the markers to reflect the new order.

6. To edit a marker, expand the row of the marker you want to modify, click EDIT.

7. Update the name, color, or description as required, and click SAVE.

8. To delete a marker, expand the row of the marker you want to delete and click DELETE.

   Important: If the marker is associated with packages and (maybe) assignments, remove the marker from those packages and delete or update those assignments, and then delete the marker.

9. Confirm the deletion.
   

   Result: App Volumes Manager removes the marker.
