Limited Availability: Add the Horizon Delegate ADMX Template in Active Directory

You can add the policy settings in the Horizon Delegate ADMX template file (hzn_agent_horizondelegate.admx) to group policy objects (GPOs) in Active Directory and configure the settings in the Group Policy Management Editor.

Prerequisites

• Verify that the Horizon Delegate setup option is installed on your virtual desktops or RDS hosts. The group policy settings have no effect if Horizon Delegate is not installed. See Installing Horizon Agent with the Horizon Delegate Feature Enabled.
• Verify that Active Directory GPOs are created for the Horizon Delegate group policy settings. The GPOs must be linked to the OU that contains your virtual desktops or RDS hosts. See Active Directory Group Policy Example.
• Verify that the Horizon Agent base ADMX template is present in the same policy definitions store. The Horizon Delegate template depends on it, and the Horizon Delegate settings do not appear without it.
• Familiarize yourself with the Horizon Delegate group policy settings. See Horizon Delegate Group Policy Settings.

Procedure

1. Download the Horizon GPO Bundle .zip file from Omnissa Customer Connect.

   Under Desktop & End-User Computing, select Download Product under Horizon. Select the appropriate Horizon version and click Go To Downloads. The Horizon GPO Bundle includes the hzn_agent_horizondelegate.admx file. See View Agent Configuration ADMX Template Settings.

2. Unzip the file and copy the ADMX files to your Active Directory server.

   1. Copy the hzn_agent_horizondelegate.admx file to the PolicyDefinitions folder. If you use a Central Store, copy it to the PolicyDefinitions folder in SYSVOL. Otherwise, copy it to C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions.

   2. Copy the language resource file (en-US\hzn_agent_horizondelegate.adml) to the appropriate language subfolder in the same PolicyDefinitions folder.

3. On the Active Directory server, open the Group Policy Management Editor.

   The settings are located in the Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Omnissa Horizon Agent > Horizon Delegate folder.
