Dynamic Environment Manager automatically creates several environment variables that can be use in DEM tasks and in scripts that run inside the user session. These variables provide convenient access to commonly used Dynamic Environment Manager paths and session details.
User Variables
The following user-level environment variables are created during user logon.

%UEMConfigShare% | The Flex configuration files folder. |
%UEMLogFile% | The fully-qualified path to the user's log file. Note: If no log file is configured, this environment variable is not created. |
%UEMProfileArchives% | The fully-qualified path to the user's profile archives folder. |
%UEMProfileArchiveBackups% | The fully-qualified path to the user's profile archive backups folder. Note: If profile archive backups are not configured, this environment variable is not created. |
%UEMScripts% | The path to the FlexRepository\Scripts subfolder of the Flex configuration files folder. |
%UEMSessionId% | The Windows session ID of the user's logon session. |
You can reference these environment variables in command lines or scripts that you configure in Dynamic Environment Manager. Common use cases include:
- DEM logon tasks
- Triggered tasks
These are standard user environment variables, accessible from any script you might want to run inside the user's session.
System Variable
You can configure the optional ScriptsEnvVar setting to have the DEM agent create a system variable set to the FlexRepository\Scripts subfolder of the computer environment settings config file folder.
