Enhanced Browser Content Redirection

Starting with the 2406 release, you have the option of implementing a new, enhanced version of Browser Content Redirection (BCR). Enhanced BCR allows website developers to control the overlay behavior on the Chrome client platform and send messages between the website running on the client and remote desktop. The website is no longer offloaded as with the Browser Redirection feature, but instead, loaded onto both the client and remote desktop.

Note: This feature is only available in the Horizon Client for Chrome.

System Requirements for Enhanced BCR

To support the Enhanced BCR feature, you must meet these requirements:

Minimum software versions:

• Horizon Agent 2406
• Horizon Client 2406
• Horizon Browser Content Redirection chrome extension 2406

Supported Operating Systems

• Client OS: Chrome OS
• Remote Desktop OS: Win 11, Win 10, Win 2019, Win 2022

Configuring Enhanced Browser Content Redirection on the Client

1. Click the Settings toolbar button in the upper-right corner of the desktop and application selector window of the Chrome Client.
2. Toggle Enable Browser Content Redirection to ON.
3. In the Google Admin console, enable the enhancedBcr setting: common-settings-> browserRedir-> enhancedBcr.

Configuring the Website for Enhanced Browser Content Redirection

There is no separate GPO entry to enable the Enhanced BCR feature. To configure the website for Enhanced BCR:

1. Turn on the BCR feature:

   GPO -> Computer configuration-> Administrative Templates -> HTML5 Features -> Browser Redirection -> Enable Browser Redirection/

2. Configure the website URL in the Enhanced BCR allowlist:

   GPO -> Computer configuration-> Administrative Templates-> HTML5 Features-> Browser Redirection -> Enable URL list for Enhanced Browser Redirection

Note: The same URL match pattern rules as browser redirection feature applies to enhanced Browser Redirection.
