Configuration File Locations

Resources that must be protected include security-relevant configuration files.

Configuration File Locations by Client Type

Client TypeFile Location
Linux client When the Linux client starts, it processes configuration settings from the following directories in the following order:
  1. /view-default-config
  2. /view-preferences
  3. /view-mandatory-config
If a setting is defined in multiple locations, the Linux client uses the value from the last file or command-line option that it reads.
Windows client User settings that might include some private information are in the following file: C:\Users\user-name\AppData\Roaming\\Horizon View Client\prefs.txt
Mac client When the Mac client starts, it generates four configuration files located in the /Library/Preferences folder.
iOS clientSecurity-related settings appear in the user interface rather than in configuration files.
Android clientSecurity-related settings appear in the user interface rather than in configuration files.
Horizon Agent (remote desktop with Windows operating system)Security-related settings appear only in the Windows Registry.
Linux desktop You can use a text editor to open the following configuration file and specify TLS-related settings: viewagent-custom.conf
