When installing App Volumes agent directly on a Windows endpoint, a valid license is required to activate and use the App Volumes agent. You can use a production license or choose to use App Volumes agent in trial mode.
When using trial mode, only three applications are delivered to the end user. Trial mode expires 90 days after installing App Volumes. To continue delivering applications to the end user after the trial expires, a valid, active production license must be used. A production license allows you to deliver an unlimited number of applications to the end user.
If you have chosen trial mode, at any time after installation, you can upgrade to a production license by adding a license key using the svservice command with administrator privileges. This license key is 35 characters long and has the following format: xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx. The license gets activated after the user logs off and logs on back into the endpoint. If the license key added is expired or not valid and trial mode has also expired, then no applications are delivered to the end user. A valid, active license key is required to continue using App Volumes.
Note: The production license gets updated only on the Windows endpoint where the svservice command is run. Hence, this update must be performed on every Windows endpoint which has App Volumes agent installed.
When upgrading from an earlier version of App Volumes agent which was installed on Windows endpoints, using a production license is mandatory.
