You can choose the deployment model through which you want to manage the delivery and life cycle of App Volumes applications when delivered to a Windows endpoint. App Volumes deployment model options are the Managed mode (uses App Volumes Manager) and the Standalone mode (uses device management tools).
Managed mode
In the Managed mode, you use App Volumes Manager to manage the life cycle of an App Volumes application (create, package, assign, and deliver). Using the App Volumes Manager allows centralized governance across hybrid environments.
When using App Volumes Manager, you can opt for a shared storage mode wherein the packages are placed on the storage, and the Windows endpoint must be online to access these packages. Alternately, you can also choose to store the packages locally on a Windows endpoint. This allows the endpoint to access the packages even when the endpoint is offline.

Standalone mode
In the Standalone mode, you use the App Volumes Application Capture Command-Line program to capture applications and then use device management tools such as Workspace ONE UEM, Configuration Manager (SCCM), or Microsoft Intune to assign and deliver the App Volumes applications to Windows endpoints.
