If you have multiple vCenter Server instances configured in your environment, an attempt to add a new instance might fail because of conflicting unique IDs.
You try to add a vCenter Server instance to Horizon 8, but the unique ID of the new vCenter Server instance conflicts with an existing instance.
Two vCenter Server instances cannot use the same unique ID. By default, a vCenter Server unique ID is randomly generated, but you can edit it.
Procedure

In vSphere Client, click Administration > vCenter Server Settings > Runtime Settings.

Type a new unique ID and click OK.

Note: Changing the vCenter Server unique ID can impact third-party solutions that rely on this ID to track and identify the vCenter Server instance. If the ID changes, these solutions may treat the vCenter Server as an entirely new instance, potentially disrupting their existing configurations and operations. Before changing the unique ID, review all integrated third-party solutions and consult their documentation to understand the impact.
