Install Omnissa Horizon Client on a Mac

You install Horizon Client on Mac client systems from a disk image file. Beginning with Horizon 8 version 2512, the Horizon Client installer includes support for HTML5 Multimedia Redirection.

Prerequisites

• Verify that the client system uses a supported operating system. See System Requirements for Mac Clients.
• Verify that you can log in as an administrator on the client system.
• Verify that you have the URL for a download page that contains the Horizon Client installer: Omnissa Customer Connect

Procedure

1. On the Mac client system, browse to the URL for downloading the Horizon Client installer file.

2. In the Finder window, double-click Horizon Client.pkg to start installation.

   When prompted, enter the administrator username and password to proceed.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Opting Out of the Digital Employee Experience Monitoring (DEEM) Agent

By default, the Horizon Client installer includes the DEEM agent. To exclude this component, follow the steps below.

1. Uninstall the DEEM agent.

   To uninstall the DEEM agent, follow the instructions in the How do you uninstall the agent that comes with Horizon Client section in Experience Management for Horizon.

   Note: Do not use the Horizon Client uninstaller, as it may not completely remove all the DEEM components.

2. On the Mac client system, revisit the Horizon Client download page and obtain the latest installer package.

3. In the Finder window, double-click Horizon Client.pkg to start installation.

4. In the Installation Type section of the Horizon Client Installer window, click Customize to modify installation components.

5. From the Package Names list, clear the checkbox for EndpointTelemetryService to exclude the DEEM agent from the installation.

   If prompted, enter the administrator credentials to authorize the installation.

   Note: After the DEEM package is uninstalled, if there are any Omnissa components that still reference it, the EndpointTelemetryService option will appear checked and disabled.

6. Proceed with the remaining installation steps as directed by the installer.

Important: If the Horizon Client is installed without the DEEM agent, future upgrades will retain this preference and will not reinstall the DEEM agent components.
