Horizon Cloud is a multi-cloud Desktop as a Service deployment with thin edge infrastructure. The service provides you with a global view of your desktops and applications spanning on-premises and cloud environments. Regardless of the location of your desktop and application deployments, Horizon Cloud enables you to consistently manage and monitor them.
These Horizon Cloud release notes detail the new features and enhancements in each release. The release notes also provide other information about Horizon Cloud such as limitations, known issues, and support contact information.
Support for new features depends on your specific infrastructure and capacity providers.

You can now use Omnissa Horizon Cloud to deliver and manage virtual desktops and applications on your on-premises Nutanix AHV infrastructure. A lightweight, Omnissa-managed Edge runs on your Nutanix clusters, giving you cloud-based management of on-premises capacity through the same Horizon Cloud control plane — with no Horizon pods or controllers for you to deploy or patch. Reuse the Nutanix capacity you have or run equivalent capacity in the cloud, while managing desktops, RDSH, and applications from a single Horizon Cloud console. This release includes:
- Automated Unified Access Gateway (UAG) deployment
- Automated desktop pool provisioning on Nutanix AHV — persistent, non-persistent (floating), and RDSH published desktops and applications

Horizon Cloud now supports automated upgrade and repair operations for Unified Access Gateway (UAG) deployments on Nutanix AHV. This allows administrators to roll forward to the latest security builds, recover failed deployments by rebuilding VMs with corrected configurations. These operations use a rolling replacement strategy to minimize downtime and automatically preserve existing static IP assignments. No admin action is required.

Unified Access Gateway

Horizon Cloud now validates the functional status and real-time health of Unified Access Gateway (UAG) instances, moving beyond simple VM deployment confirmation. This ensures that IT admins have accurate visibility into whether a gateway is truly ready to handle end-user traffic or if Day 2 configuration changes have successfully taken effect across the cluster. This feature will be rolled out in phases.

Horizon Cloud now supports High Availability (HA) for Unified Access Gateway (UAG) deployments on Microsoft Azure by distributing gateway VMs across multiple availability zones. This update enhances service resiliency by ensuring that a single zone failure does not disrupt user connectivity, while providing admins with new controls to select multi-AZ compatible VM SKUs and define fallback SKUs for automated recovery. This capability applies to Azure-based UAG deployments during creation or post-deployment updates.
Pools and Pool Groups
- Horizon Cloud now supports Horizon Agent updates for dedicated desktop pool groups deployed on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This enables IT admins to maintain version consistency and patch compliance across AWS environments by triggering agent updates directly from the console, similar to existing Azure capabilities.
Monitoring
- The Horizon Universal Console now displays the unique ID for Images, Pools, Edges, and Pool Groups, including a convenient copy-to-clipboard button, in their respective Detail pages. This allows administrators to easily retrieve identifiers required for API requests, automation scripts, and reporting without having to perform manual lookups or indirect discovery. The field is read-only and appears consistently in the header of each relevant resource page. No admin action is required.
Cost Insights

The following three enhancements are now available for Cost Insights:

Data Export - Cost Insights now supports raw data export to Excel via the Download Manager for a selected period of up to 90 days. This enables admins to easily move cost data into external finance or BI tools for deeper analysis and reporting.

Multi-select Filtering - The Cost Insights dashboard now allows admins to multi-select specific pools and pool groups when filtering data. This replaces the previous single-select limitation, allowing for more flexible and granular cost comparisons across different segments of the environment.

Pool-level Insights and Recommendations - New detail pages for individual pools now surface inline cost trends, projected optimization savings, and specific pool-level recommendations. This provides admins with immediate visibility into the financial impact and efficiency of a specific pool without needing to navigate away from the pool management view.

App Volumes

App links for App Volumes delivers applications faster with shareable App Links. Admins can now generate a clickable URI for every application entry point and distribute it directly to entitled end users. One click launches the right package instantly, with no logout required, even for newly entitled apps. Manage and copy links easily from the App Links section.

Command line delivery for Apps on Demand gives admins greater control over app delivery timing. Entitled applications can now be excluded from automatic delivery at login or startup, letting you use your own scripts or management tools to deliver, enable, or disable specific apps precisely when needed.

App links for Apps on Demand enables you to send an App Link in an email, post on a web page, or add to your app portal. These application URIs can now be used to deliver and launch applications wherever App Volumes agent is installed. Administrators can collect these links from the App Volumes Manager admin UI and distribute them as needed.
Resiliency

To boost service resiliency, we have added a new Horizon Data Center (HDC) in the Japan region. It operates in an Active-Active, load-balanced configuration specifically for end-user virtual desktop connections alongside the existing HDC, routing traffic based on strict geographic affinity.

Partner Admin Console (Limited Availability)

Omnissa Managed Service Providers (MSP) will now see their own Omnissa Connect organization listed as a tenant in the tenant overview page. This provides the partner admin a convenient way to access the Horizon Universal Console for their organization to manage their vSphere/vCenter capacity resource partitions.
The Horizon Cloud Partner Admin Console (PAC) is available in Limited Availability (LA). If you are an Omnissa Managed Service Provider (MSP) and want access to the Partner Admin Console, send an email request to getHCPartnerAdminConsoleLA@omnissa.com.

Admins who are deploying Unified Access Gateway (UAG) appliances for vSphere Edge can now customize or change appliance sizing (vCPU/Memory) by using the Deployment size option in Horizon control plane to size the deployment based on the protocol traffic load generated by their user session activity.
Cost Insights
- Horizon Cloud now provides a granular pool-level view within the Cost Insights dashboard, allowing admins to track potential costs, incurred costs, and utilization metrics for individual pools. The dashboard also introduces new details pages for Pool Groups containing cost trends, optimization savings, and pool group-level recommendations.
Image Management

The pre-publish login requirement for Azure has been removed. For all supported Windows versions, an interactive login to the image VM is no longer required before publishing an image. Images can now be published directly without a prior user sign-in.

You can now update the Azure Compute Gallery replica count for published image versions. This option allows you to scale the number of image version replica from 1 up to 100, helping improve image availability and deployment performance across regions.

You can now edit image version metadata, including descriptions, markers and Horizon Agent features, without creating a new image version. Adding an existing marker automatically updates all associated pools to the edited image version. Markers associated with pools cannot be removed. This is available for Azure and AWS EC2 Instance image versions.

Horizon Cloud now supports full image lifecycle management for Amazon WorkSpaces Core provider deployments. Administrators can now clone, publish, republish, and edit image versions targeted at WorkSpaces Core Instances directly from the Horizon Universal Console.
App Volumes

Horizon Cloud now provides support for Custom Security Groups in App Volumes storage file shares. You can now configure custom security groups when provisioning an App Volumes storage file share. Before selecting this option, ensure your custom security group is configured with the required rules to allow seamless communication with the Horizon Edge.
Note: Assigning a custom security group is a permanent action. Once applied, the configuration cannot be reverted back to the default security group.

- The operating system of the Horizon Edge Gateway appliance has changed to Alma Linux OS 9.6.
- The Kubernetes version in the Horizon Edge Gateway is upgraded to V1.35.0.

Google Cloud Platform Provider (Beta)
- Horizon Cloud on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is now available in Beta. Customers can deploy and manage virtual desktops and applications directly on their own GCP infrastructure, with Omnissa managing the control plane. The Beta includes automated deployment of the Horizon Edge Gateway and Unified Access Gateway on your GCP project, along with lifecycle management of Sole-Tenant Nodes for Windows 11 BYOL compliance. Customers can deliver Windows 11 single-session desktops on Sole-Tenant Nodes, Windows Server single-session desktops, and Windows Server multi-session (RDSH) desktops — all managed through the Horizon Universal Console.
Desktops and Applications

Horizon Cloud now supports disabling Web Client access globally or restricting it selectively by pool groups, user groups, and network ranges. Horizon native clients remain unaffected, allowing you to easily lock down Web access for sensitive environments without disrupting overall productivity.

End users can now reset their Horizon Cloud virtual desktops directly from the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub web portal. The reset action performs a hard reboot of the virtual machine, providing a quick self-service recovery option for dedicated desktops.
This feature does not apply to floating desktops, multi-session environments, or RDSH-published applications or desktops.
Caution: If a dedicated desktop has multiple assigned users, resetting it will abruptly disconnect any active session.

Horizon Cloud now supports sending volume-based True-SSO failure events to Workspace One Intelligence for custom dashboard, report, and alerting use cases.
Pools and Pool Groups

Horizon Cloud now supports native time zone customization for multisession (RDSH) desktops, allowing administrators to specify a system time zone during pool creation or editing. This ensures that applications requiring a specific system time zone function correctly, replacing the previous requirement for manual GPO-based configurations. The specified time zone applies to all newly provisioned VMs within the multisession pool, while existing VMs must be rebuilt to reflect changes.

Horizon Cloud now introduces a simplified spare capacity model that allows administrators to define spare VM requirements as a percentage at the Pool Group level, rather than managing fixed minimum and maximum values for each individual pool. This change simplifies capacity management across large environments by ensuring consistent scaling behavior and reducing the risk of deployment failures or unexpected infrastructure costs caused by manual configuration errors.
This new model is enabled by default for all newly created pools using on-demand provisioning, while existing pools can be transitioned via a new Simplify Provisioning toggle. No admin action is required for existing pools unless you choose to migrate them to the new simplified policy.
This feature is rolling out in phases across Horizon Cloud and will become available in your environment over time.
Image Management

In alignment with Microsoft’s End of Life (EOL) policies, support for Windows 10 version 22H2 and Windows Server 2016 is being discontinued.
- Creation of new images using these operating systems is no longer supported and will be blocked.
- Existing images that are already part of desktop or application pools will continue to function as expected. However, these images will no longer receive updates or support.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to supported operating system versions to ensure continued compatibility, security, and support.
Helpdesk

From the Horizon Universal Console Help Desk view, administrators can now view live running processes for Horizon Sessions and Virtual Machines to identify problematic processes or excessive resource consumers relative to the following fields:
- Process Name: The executable name (for example, chrome.exe).
- CPU Usage: Percentage of CPU consumed by the process.
- Memory Usage: Amount of memory (in KB) used by the process.
- Disk IOPS: Input/output operations per second, calculated as the difference in total I/O bytes over a one-second interval.
- Username: Owner of the process.
- Host CPU/Memory: Overall CPU and memory usage of the virtual machine hosting the session.
- Process Count: Total number of processes running in the session.
- Refresh Option: Allows the data to be updated in real time for the most current view.
Unified Access Gateway

Unified Access Gateway (UAG) Advanced Mode now supports up to 4,000 concurrent sessions per UAG for Horizon Cloud on Azure and AWS cloud providers. This increased density allows you to deploy fewer gateway appliances. See product documentation for the minimum compute requirements.

Administrators can now select required TLS cipher suites for Unified Access Gateway (UAG). This allows organizations to meet strict corporate compliance mandates, disable deprecated algorithms, and harden the UAG security posture in Horizon Cloud environments.

As a result, cost and savings for resources in the Azure in China regions are shown as zero.

OpenStack Provider - Limited Availability
- Horizon Cloud customers can now manage OpenStack capacity with a Horizon Cloud OpenStack Edge. All workload lifecycle management is done through the Horizon Universal Console which includes deployment of the UAG VMs and single-session and multi-session pool VMs. In addition, if the OpenStack infrastructure control plane is SaaS-hosted, the Horizon Edge VM deployment is done by Horizon Cloud. Customers can combine OpenStack providers with other supported Horizon Cloud providers such as Azure, Windows 365, Amazon Workspaces Core and vSphere. This enhancement is available as Limited Availability (LA) only. For enabling this support for your Omnissa Connect organization, send email to getHorizonCloudOnOpenStackLA@omnissa.com.
Image Management
- Horizon Cloud now supports RHEL Enterprise Linux 8.6 for Microsoft Azure. You can now create, edit, and deploy images based on Linux 8.6.
Identity Management
- Horizon Cloud now supports Google Identity (Google Workspace and Cloud Identity) through Omnissa Identity Service, enabling secure, centralized authentication and federation. This integration delivers seamless SSO, standardized identity architecture, and validated end-to-end workflows aligned with Horizon Cloud policies. It ensures interoperability with enterprise identity systems and is fully tested for production readiness. Customers using direct Google integrations should transition to the Omnissa Identity Service-based model for improved security, governance, and scalability. Migration scenarios are supported to minimize disruption. Recommended: Adopt Omnissa Identity Service as the primary identity layer and validate configurations before production rollout.
Networking
- Horizon Cloud no longer requires mandatory vNet peering for UAG and Desktop subnets located in different vNets. This update allows administrators to seamlessly implement Hub-and-Spoke network topologies, providing greater architectural flexibility and alignment with enterprise networking standards. While this new architecture is now available, customers can continue to use vNet peering if preferred. This feature is currently supported for deployments using the Microsoft Azure provider.
Pools and Pools Groups
- Managed Services Providers can now view Manual Pools and related workloads in the Partner Admin Console.

Access Denied Error on RDSH Session Launch with Universal Broker (VDI).
When using the Universal Broker with VDI, you may encounter an Access Denied error when launching RDSH sessions after upgrading to Horizon Connection Server version 2603. This feature is rolling out in phases across Horizon Cloud and will become available in your environment over time.
Note: This feature is available only for Microsoft Azure deployments.

Beta - Horizon Cloud now provides data-driven recommendations to help administrators optimize cost and capacity for Azure desktop pools and pool groups. Recommendations are based on observed historical usage and are surfaced in the Horizon Universal Console to help reduce over-provisioning and idle resources. For activation of this Horizon Cloud Beta feature and its documentation, sign up in the Omnissa Beta Program.

An optional Admin Password field is introduced in the Application area of the Edge definition page. If provided, it will set the same password for the admin and ccadmin user and also enable ssh for both users.

Static IP is made mandatory while deploying the Edge VM in vSphere. Therefore, all networking related fields in the Networking Properties section of the OVA template are made mandatory. Cloud providers can still use DHCP.

An Optional NTP server field is now available in the Networking Properties section of the OVA template for the Edge VM in vSphere and the cloud-init config yaml file applicable for Nutanix. If provided, the VM will be synced with the provided NTP servers. Otherwise, it defaults to time-a-g.nist.gov,time-a-wwv.nist.gov,time.nist.gov settings.

Newly created floating desktop pools for Azure providers now use snapshot-based VM refresh by default. This reduces refresh time compared to the previous delete‑and‑recreate method.
Note: Existing pools are unchanged and administrators can switch a pool back to the previous refresh method at any time using the Edit Pool workflow.

Horizon Cloud floating single-session pools on Microsoft Azure and Amazon WorkSpaces Core can now be managed by Workspace ONE UEM, automating enrollment upon user login. This enables seamless unified endpoint management for your floating virtual desktops. New VMs will be automatically enrolled to UEM upon user login, simplifying provisioning and ongoing management.

You can now define how VM names are reused within a pool using a configurable reuse policy. A new VM names reuse policy setting is introduced alongside the Reuse VM names toggle as described below:
- Reuse VM names: Enables reuse of VM names after deletion.
- Reuse VM names when possible: Reuses VM names after deletion when available. If previously used names are not available, new VM names may be created outside the configured pool range.
- Restrict VM names to configured range: Ensures VM names remain within the configured pool range. New VMs reuse names from deleted VMs and do not create names outside the defined range.
- For existing pools, the Reuse VM names setting remains unchanged and cannot be edited.
- If Reuse VM names is enabled when the pool is created, you can update the VM names reuse policy.
- If Reuse VM names is disabled when the pool is created, it cannot be enabled later, and the reuse policy is not applicable.
Desktop and Applications

End users can now launch Horizon Cloud entitlements directly from the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub mobile client on iOS, enabling seamless access to virtual desktops and applications from iPhone and iPad. This release also supports configurations where the Enforce Intelligent Hub option is enabled.

Horizon Cloud now supports the Omnissa-managed Enterprise App registration type when configuring Azure provider connections. This allows administrators to use Omnissa-managed credentials to access Azure subscriptions, eliminating the need for customers to manually manage service principal secrets and key rotations. The traditional single tenant (manual) Horizon Edge deployments for Horizon Cloud on Microsoft Azure continue to remain available.

Using the Omnissa-managed method, administrators can now add and manage up to five Omnissa multitenant applications per each Azure provider configuration.

Using the Omnissa-managed method enables administrators to move away from manual service principal management by using the Omnissa-managed registration type, removing the need for administrators to handle secrets or key rotations.

Horizon Cloud administrators can add additional email recipients or groups in the Horizon Universal Console to receive notifications related to their Horizon deployment.
Monitoring
- Horizon Cloud administrators will now receive an email and in-app notification in the Horizon Universal Console if end users experience a True SSO failure. Administrators can investigate the issue and advise affected users to log in using their username and password in the meantime. The Horizon Cloud administrator must Opt-in for this feature to be available from the Settings > Notifications panel in the Horizon Universal Console.
Image Management
- Horizon Cloud floating desktops on Microsoft Azure can now be managed by Workspace ONE UEM, automating enrollment upon user login. This enables seamless unified endpoint management for your floating virtual desktops.
App Volumes
- For Horizon Cloud users, the application packaging experience in App Volumes is now streamlined by setting On-Demand delivery as the default in the package creation wizard. Administrators can still choose Classic delivery when required, ensuring full backward compatibility and flexibility for legacy or specific deployment scenarios.
Partner Admin Console (Limited Availability)

Omnissa Managed Service Providers (MSP) who operate their own vSphere/vCenter capacity can now partition vSphere resources in a single vCenter and assign them to tenants. Tenants can pick from their assigned partitions without needing to enter partition details or authorizations.

Horizon Edge

Power management and spare management configurations for pool groups have been moved into a dedicated Auto Scaling step in the Pool Group workflow. This separates power and spare management from other policy settings and simplifies how administrators configure scaling behavior for pool groups.

Autonomous Mode is now available for floating and multi-session pool groups in the new Auto Scaling step. When Autonomous Mode is enabled, Horizon Cloud automatically manages capacity based on demand, reducing the need for manual tuning of power policies while maintaining target service levels. This feature will be rolled out across the service through the month of March.

Power management schedules can now be enabled or disabled without deleting them, so administrators can temporarily turn off a schedule for maintenance or other reasons and re-enable it later.
Horizon Universal Console
- Using options on the Notifications Settings page, customer administrators can now opt-in or opt-out of specific in-app and email notifications from the Horizon Universal Console. These preferences apply organization-wide across the entire Horizon environment.

Horizon Cloud now supports fine-grained IAM policies for Amazon Workspaces Core deployments to replace broad permissions such as ec2, eks, fsx, and workspaces. These changes reduce the need to grant hundreds of service actions during onboarding, making security reviews faster and easier, especially for enterprise environments. The new policies follow the principle of least privilege and grant only the permissions required for product functionality. This update also extends the same fine-grained access model to core managed instances, ensuring consistent, secure, and scalable access control across all supported services. These permission updates are required only for Horizon Cloud on Amazon Workspaces Core deployments.
Pools and Pool Groups
- When deleting VMs from a pool, administrators can now enable a Reduce pool size option to automatically shrink the pool by the number of VMs deleted. This enhancement eliminates the previous multi-step workflow and ensures that pools stay aligned to actual capacity.

Workspace ONE UEM auto-enrollment now allows Horizon administrators to re-enroll VMs that were not enrolled earlier and VMs with failed enrollment to Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) for Dedicated Desktop Pools in Horizon Cloud Service. Key enhancements include the following:

Edit Support for UEM Management: Administrators can now edit existing Dedicated Desktop Pools to enable or disable UEM integration. UEM settings applied via pool edits will only affect newly provisioned desktops in the pool.

Reliable Re-Enrollment Handling: If a VM is already enrolled, resending UEM settings will result in no action being taken. If a VM is not enrolled, Horizon Cloud will automatically process the enrollment using the updated settings. If a previous enrollment failed, Horizon Cloud will retry the enrollment with the new settings provided via the edit flow.

Horizon Subscription Management
- Previously, the Horizon Cloud Console had a static timeout limit of 30 minutes. Since many tasks take longer, the console often timed out while an administrator was waiting on a task to complete. Administrators can now configure the timeout period of the Horizon Cloud Console as per their operational and security needs by using an option on the General Settings page.
Image Management
- Image administrators can now run the Horizon optimization tool for images to be used in virtual desktops. After an image is imported, run the optimization tool until you are satisfied with the image. You can then publish the optimized image.

- The App Capture package workflow has been enhanced by introducing a streamlined vNet and Subnet selection process. Users can now select a single vNet and subnet from a drop-down list of preferred networks. Administrators can now hibernate disconnected VMs in dedicated single session pools. The Image Management Service (IMS) provides flexibility for Horizon 8 image administrators with an alternate replication storage mechanism. Without this new feature enablement, there is an infrastructure requirement to configure Microsoft Azure Blob Storage as a storage area for multi-edge image replication. Administrators can now choose Network File Storage (NFS) as a pure on-premise storage area to facilitate Horizon 8 image replication. Note that this feature is being released in Limited Availability (LA) mode. Please reach out to your sales executive or Omnissa support if you want to enable this LA feature.

Microsoft Azure Encryption at Host provides end-to-end encryption for virtual machine data, encrypting data on the VM host itself before it's sent to the storage service. This means that data stored on the temporary disk and OS/data disk caches is encrypted at rest and flows encrypted to storage. This security feature enhances data protection at the VM level, ensuring data confidentiality and potentially helping with compliance requirements. Encryption at host does not use the VM's CPU and doesn't impact the VM's performance. The Image Management Service (IMS) now supports encryption at the host for Microsoft Azure images. The administrator now can now enable encryption at the host level. When turned on, the system encrypts all attached disks with platform-managed keys.
Horizon Subscription Management
- License consumption metrics for concurrent user and named user licenses are now available on the Subscriptions tab of Horizon Universal Console for Horizon 8 deployments. This is in addition to the pre-existing availability of these metrics for Microsoft Azure and Amazon Workspaces deployments.

Horizon Cloud dedicated single-session pools on Microsoft Azure and Amazon WorkSpaces Core can now be managed by Workspace ONE UEM, automating enrollment upon user login. Summary: A blank screen appears when logging in to the cloned VM of a Windows 11 24H2 image in Microsoft Azure. The summmary is below. More detail is provided in KB 6000902.
Description: If you clone a new Microsoft Azure image of a Windows 11 24H2 image VM and then log in to the cloned image VM, a blank screen may appear.
Workaround: Create a user with administrator privileges and use that new user to log in to the cloned VM. This workaround needs to be done for every new version of the impacted image. For example, if you perform this workaround on version 2.0.0 of the cloned image and then publish and create a new version of that image (3.0.0 from 2.0.0), the latest version (3.0.0 ) may have the same blank screen issue, and you would need to perform the workaround on that 3.0.0 image.
- Click in the black screen and press Ctrl + Alt + Delete on the keyboard.
- Select Task Manager and then click File > Run New Task.

(HV2-147852) Summary: Pools cannot be upgraded directly to Horizon Agent 24.4 or greater if the current version is 23.3 or earlier.
Description: For pools running older versions of the Horizon Agent (any version prior to 23.3), you must first upgrade to Horizon Agent version 24.2 and then upgrade from version 24.2 to Horizon Agent version 24.4 or later. Further:
- This is applicable for pools with dedicated desktops.
- You can update agents by using the same procedure. The agent update will automatically identify the older pools and update them to 24.2. From there, you can upgrade from Horizon Agent version 24.2 to 24.4.
- Upgrading to the Horizon Agent 24.4 is also necessary for the Critical Root CA Update and Critical Horizon Agent Update callouts, described at the top of the Release Notes, for customers who have these older pools.

Description: Currently, when a Network Virtual Appliance (NVA) with a single backend IP address is placed in front of the Unified Access Gateways (a situation where all traffic appears to come from the same source), end-user sessions are routed to a single Unified Access Gateway behind the Microsoft Azure load balancer. This is due to the Source IP affinity policy used on the Microsoft Azure load balancer. As a result, a maximum of 2,000 sessions are supported because only a single Unified Access Gateway is used.
Workaround: Remove the NVA. Currently, there is no workaround for keeping the NVA in place.

(HCS-59835) Identity provider domain name does not fully update when changed in the Horizon Universal Console.
When you change the company domain name of your identity provider (Identity Provider > Company Domain name) after enabling the ‘Custom Client Access Subdomain’ feature, the previous company domain name continues to be used during end-user connections.
When users attempt to access their desktops and applications, they receive an “Invalid tenant domain provided” message and their access is blocked.
Workaround: To cause the company domain name to be updated successfully, enable and disable the pre-login message as described in Configure Pre-Login Messages in Horizon Cloud.

When a user launches their entitled VDI desktop pool VMs multiple times using Horizon Client, the user might sometimes fail to receive App Volumes applications. As a result, App Volumes applications are delivered to the user only intermittently. This issue usually occurs when the user logs out of the launched VM and retries launching desktop immediately.
Workaround: User must log out of the launched VM from the Horizon HTML Access (Web Client) or Horizon Client and launch the VM again.

When deploying a Horizon Edge in Microsoft Azure, administrators now have a choice between an AKS-based Edge Gateway and a VM-based Edge Gateway. The VM-based Edge Gateway is not highly available and is intended for smaller environments as it only supports up to 5000 VMs or sessions.

Horizon Edge Gateways for Horizon 8 deployments can now be upgraded using the workflow in the Horizon Universal Console. A notification is displayed indicating that an upgrade is available when a new appliance version is released. Moving a marker from an Image version that does not have App Volumes installed to an image version that has App Volumes installed prevents the delivery of App Volumes applications
Currently, when you move markers from image versions that do not have App Volumes installed to image versions that do have App Volumes Installed, the desktops from the pool group where the image is used do not become aware of the change, preventing App Volumes application delivery to those desktops.
Workaround: After you move the marker, use the Horizon Universal Console to update the pool group to sync the latest image features to the pool group. You update the pool group by navigating through the Edit workflow to the Save option, without making any configuration changes. The desktops can then receive the App Volumes applications.

Note: Source IP affinity is used on the Azure Load Balancer to persist sessions from the same client through the same Unified Access Gateway. NVAs that do not support passing through the client source IP cause all traffic to be routed to a single Unified Access Gateway.

(HV-72473) When a user is logged into Horizon Client and the Horizon HTML Access client at the same time and logs out of Horizon Client, the user is not directed to the logout page.
This situation occurs specifically when your Horizon Cloud organization is configured with Workspace ONE Access Cloud as the identity provider while Workspace ONE Hub is not enabled. Horizon Client and Horizon HTML Access client share the same logout page. When the user is logged into both client types and logs out of Horizon Client, the user is logged out of Workspace ONE Access Cloud. However, instead of being directed to the logout page, the user is redirected to the launch items page by the Horizon HTML Access client since that session is still active.
Workaround : When a user is logged into both the clients simultaneously and wants to logout, the user should logout of the Horizon HTML Access client first and then from Horizon Client.

(HV-74654) The user cannot log out of Horizon Cloud.
This situation occurs specifically when your Horizon Cloud organization is configured with Workspace ONE Access on-premises as the identity provider. The user logs in using a client (Horizon Client or the Horizon HTML Access client) and later attempts to log out, but the session is not cleared in Workspace ONE Access on-premises. The result is that the user remains logged in.
Workaround : None

(HV-61455, HV-68684) RDS Session timeouts do not function on Windows 10 Multi-Session, Windows 11 Multi-Session, and Windows Server 2022 Horizon Agent desktops in Microsoft Azure.
Session timeout settings are applied on Horizon Agent machines through GPO and non-GPO methods, but the Microsoft Terminal Services on Horizon Agent do not honor the timeouts and the desired session outcome is not achieved. For example, if MaxDisconnectionTime is set to a value of 60000 milliseconds, the disconnected session is not logged off in 60 seconds. The result is the same regardless of how these timeouts are applied on the Windows machine. This issue requires a fix from Microsoft.
Workaround :
Either of the following approaches is effective as a workaround.
- Use Windows Server 2019.
- Use Microsoft Group Policy Objects (GPO) on Horizon Agent machine.
Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Remote Desktop Services/Remote Desktop Session Host/Session Time Limits/Set Time Limit for Disconnected Sessions -> set to enabled and set the required timeout for disconnected session to logoff.
Note: Timeout values that you configure using the Cloud Services Console do not take effect. Only values that you configure using GPO are applicable.

- You now have the option to use non-occupancy based power management.
Non-occupancy based power management optimizes power consumption by powering on or powering off VMs based on a set "Unused VMs" threshold. An Unused VM is a virtual machine which is provisioned but does not have a user logged in. The system looks at the number of unused VMs in that pool group that are powered on relative to the total number of VMs provisioned in that pool group to determine whether some VMs should be powered ON or OFF.

(HV-61415) When you select the On-demand delivery type for an App Volumes package, the App Volumes agent fails to virtualize the package.
App Volumes Manager UI allows you to select the On-demand delivery type for a package that does not support that delivery type. The App Volumes agent is unable to virtualize such packages.
Workaround : Edit the package and change the delivery type from On-demand to Classic.

(HV-65339) Removing a pool from a pool group that has dedicated desktops with user entitlements does not remove the user entitlement.
After you entitle a pool group with a dedicated desktop to a user and the user launches the desktop, the desktop stays assigned to the user even after you unentitle the corresponding pool group.
Workaround: In the Horizon Universal Console, unentitle the desktop from Pool Groups > VMs screen.
