Set Up the NSX-T Environment for Horizon DaaS

After completing the migration process from VMware NSX for vSphere (NSX-V) to VMware NSX (NSX-T), you must perform some final setup tasks.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, verify that you have completed all the steps of the Migration Coordinator, as described in Migrate Horizon DaaS to NSX-T.

NSX-T Setup Tasks

  1. To prepare for the removal of VIBs, put the applicable ESXi hosts into maintenance mode.

The VIB removal command returns an error if the ESXi host is not in maintenance mode.

  2. Go to the secondary vCenter Server and remove the VIBs on all ESXi hosts on the secondary NSX manager.

In vSphere Client, you can expand the NSX cluster to select the secondary NSX manager.

  3. Open the primary NSX-T manager and add the secondary vCenter Server to the compute manager.

You use the Compute Manager page in the NSX-T portal to add a secondary vCenter Server to the compute manager.

  4. Go to the Nodes page to check the hosts and configure the transport nodes

You use the Host Transport Nodes page in the NSX-T portal to configure transport nodes for the host.

  5. Remove the NSX-V setup on the primary and secondary managers.
