Integrating Omnissa Identity Service with Okta

You can integrate Omnissa Identity Service with Okta to provision your Okta users to Omnissa services and use federated authentication for those users.

Supported Features

Provisioning

The Okta integration supports the following provisioning features:

  • Create Users: Users in Okta that are assigned to the Omnissa Identity Service app in Okta are automatically added as users in Omnissa Identity Service.
  • Update User Attributes: When user attributes are updated in Okta, they are updated in Omnissa Identity Service.
  • Deactivate Users: When users are deactivated in Okta, they are deactivated in Omnissa Identity Service, which prevents them from logging in.
  • Create and Update Groups and Group Attributes: Groups and their users in Okta can be pushed to Omnissa Identity Service.

Authentication

The Okta integration supports both SAML 2.0 and OpenID Connect protocols for authentication.

For SAML integration, Okta supports both types of single sign-on (SSO) flows:

  • IdP-initiated SSO (when authentication begins at the identity provider)
  • SP-initiated SSO (when authentication begins at the service provider)

However, IdP-initiated SSO is not intended to be used with the Omnissa Identity Service integration. When you create the SAML app, select the Do not display the application icon to users option. For more information, see Step 2: Set up User and Group Provisioning in Integrate Omnissa Identity Service with Okta. The SP-initiated SSO flow is configured automatically.
