New Features
- We are introducing Linux Application (App) Management. App Management provides the ability to manage applications on enrolled Linux endpoints. This includes installing, updating, and removing native applications by uploading .deb or .rpm files into Workspace ONE UEM.

Workspace Intelligent Hub for Linux 24.03 - April 2024

New Features
- SAML support has been added for CLI Enrollment.
For enrollments executed using the command line, the Intelligent Hub can now pop a browser to capture a user’s enrollment credentials if the Workspace ONE UEM Organization Group is configured for integrated, modern authentication. This removes a
limitation that has been present since the first release of the Intelligent Hub for Linux and minimizes the need for utilizing web enrollment to enroll users. This functionality requires either Firefox or Chrome be installed on the device.
- Support 64-bit on ARM has been added.
New installers are available for 64-bit operating systems (OS) running on the ARM chipset. This includes support for virtual machines running on M-chip based Apple Mac devices and any other ARM hardware running a 64-bit OS.
- Sensors in User Context are now available.
Workspace ONE Sensors can now be executed in the user context on a Linux device in addition to the existing option of running them in the system context. Now, this is like Mac and Windows that provide both options. The drop-down to select the execution context is in the definition of the sensor in Workspace ONE UEM starting with 2402.

Added the option for an admin to disable private key encryption.

Added support to validate iptables for fetching the firewall status.

Removed the sudo requirement from the enrollment command.

Added support for web enrollment using the flatpak installed browser.

We enabled the following commands:

Device Wipe – In addition to Enterprise Wipe which unenrolls, uninstalls the Hub, and removes any content pushed down with Workspace ONE UEM, Device Wipe provides a more extensive wipe, typically in response to a lost or stolen device. Device Wipe emulates a factory reset on the Linux device when invoked by the admin. This command removes apps, users, the user’s files/data, Wi-Fi connections, and other items to make the device unusable, requiring a new install of Linux.

Device Reboot – This command reproduces the effect of powering the device off and on again.

Added a symbolic link to ws1HubUtil so that the device side user no longer needs to change directory in order to execute.

We removed the sudo requirement in ws1HubUtil for status and version commands.

Now, ws1HubUtil explicitly checks for the commands that require sudo, providing more security and better error handling.

New Features
- Introduced new WS1HubtUtil command line options.
Added more device side command line options to improve troubleshooting and enhance end user visibility.
- Added Root Cert Deployment to the Browser Cert Store.
Now, when using Network Security Services (NSS) libraries, Workspace ONE UEM writes a root cert to Linux devices using Firefox and Chromium based browsers. NSS libraries are a prerequisite. Necessary components are automatically installed when using the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub installer.
- Now, private keys are encrypted by default
When private keys are generated for Linux devices, they will be AES256 encrypted by default using the password configured in the certificate.
- Enabled the Device Lock command.
Use this command to lock a selected device, making it unusable until it's unlocked. Any signed in user must reauthenticate. If the user's credentials are valid, then they can log in.
Note: This feature requires Workspace ONE UEM 2304. Workspace ONE UEM 2304 is scheduled for release early summer 2023.

Now, Puppet open source is only required for processing custom configuration profiles. Dependencies on Wi-Fi or credentials payloads are no longer applicable.

Enhanced automated Hub upgrades. IT administators can enable Hub upgrades to occur automatically when new versions are released.

Implemented additional sensor triggers. Now, IT administrators have the option to trigger a sensor based on login, logout, startup, or network changes on enrolled Linux devices.

Added disk encryption detection. Workspace ONE identifies if full disk encryption (using LUKS) is enables on enrolled Linux devices.

Now, the Application tab in Devices Details shows desktop applications that are installed and version information on enrolled Linux-based endpoints.

Introduced web enrollment. A web-based wizard has been added to streamline downloading and enrollment of Workspace One Intelligent Hub for Linux. The wizard supports integrated authentication which allows Workspace ONE Access, SAML, or other integrated, modern authentication to be used for enrolling a Linux device in Workspace ONE UEM.

Prior Version is Installed: The application seamlessly updates over the existing application version without disrupting device enterprise functionality. Manually install the new version on the enrolled device.

Prior Version is Not Installed: Direct end users to enroll using web enrollment where the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub is automatically downloaded. The appropriate installer can be downloaded directly. For more information and instructions, see Enroll Your Linux Devices.
