Configure Drive Mappings

Associate a local drive letter with a shared storage area over the network.

Procedure

  1. Start the DEM Management Console.

  2. Click the User Environment tab.

  3. Select Drive Mapping and click Create.

  4. Enter a name for the settings definition.

  5. Configure the drive mapping settings.

    Option Description
Drive letter The drive letter to assign.
Remote path The UNC path of the share. Can contain environment variables.
Friendly name (Optional) The description that appears in Windows Explorer. Only available if Run asynchronously is selected.
If drive letter is in use Specifies the action to take when the designated drive letter is already mapped.
    • Override existing mapping – This option is selected by default. Replaces the existing drive mapping that uses the specified drive letter.
    • Skip mapping – Skips drive mapping if the specified drive letter is already in use.
    • Use next available letter – Maps the network path to the next available drive letter automatically, if the specified letter is already in use. When this option is selected, Undo at logoff and refresh during drive mapping refresh setting is automatically enabled, while the Run once option is disabled.
Note: This option cannot be used with drive letter Z: as there are no subsequent letters available.
Run once (Optional) If selected, the drive mapping only occurs once.
Run asynchronously (Optional) If selected, the drive mapping occurs in the background. If not selected, FlexEngine waits for the drive mapping to finish before continuing.

    6. Click Save.
