You can now validate and upgrade all outdated built-in settings from a single location. On the Personalization tab, the new Validate Built-in Settings button scans every personalization configuration file and lists the files that reference outdated Windows Common Settings or application templates.
The Validate Built-in Settings button is available based on the Personalization access level configured through the Lock down access to Omnissa DEM Management Console policy setting.
| Personalization access level | Validate Built-in Settings button |
|---|---|
| Full access (or policy not configured) | Available |
| Read-only access | Not available |
| Hide access | Not available |
Procedure
-
Start the DEM Management Console.
-
Click the Personalization tab.
-
On the Personalization ribbon, click Validate Built-in Settings.
All personalization configuration files are scanned and the scan progress is displayed.
-
Review the list of outdated configuration files.
If all configuration files are already up to date, no further action is required.
-
Click Upgrade all and Yes to confirm.
All the listed configuration files are upgraded and the number of files upgraded is displayed.
-
If one or more upgrades failed, the Upgrade Errors dialog box lists each failed file and the reason for the failure. Correct the underlying issue, and run Validate Built-in Settings again for the affected files.
What to do next
Compare the new version of an upgraded file with an earlier version to confirm the changes. For more information, see Tracking Configuration File Changes.
