Omnissa Horizon 8 supports multi-session hosts that provide published desktops and applications that users can access from Omnissa Horizon Client. Multiple users can connect concurrently to the same published desktop on a Windows-based Remote Desktop Services (RDS) host or a Linux-based multi-session host. They can also connect concurrently to the same published applications provided by such a host.
In a typical Horizon 8 deployment, clients connect to desktops and applications through Omnissa Horizon Connection Server. However, if you install Horizon Agent Direct-Connection Plug-In (formerly View Agent Direct-Connection Plug-In) on a Windows or Linux multi-session host, clients can connect directly to published desktops or applications without using Horizon Connection Server
