Intelligent Hub Application

As a Workspace ONE UEM admin, you can configure options for the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub for Windows.

What can you do with the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub for Windows page?

The path to the settings page in the Workspace ONE UEM console is Groups & Settings > All Settings > Devices & Users > Microsoft > Windows > Intelligent Hub Application.

With the Intelligent Hub Application page, you can:

• Configure the device ownership type.
• Configure to automatically publish Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub for OOBE enrollments.
• Configure to automatically update the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub with Intelligent Hub Version Control for Windows.

Determine your Organization Group hierarchy

Before you review and modify settings, understand the two types of inheritance/override options for the organization group hierarchy available at the top and bottom of the settings page and determine your choices. For more information about these settings, see Override Versus Inherit Setting for Organization Groups.

• Current Setting – Select whether to Inherit or Override the displayed settings. Inherit means use the settings of the current organization group's parent OG, while Override enables the settings for editing so you can modify the current OG's settings directly.
• Child Permission – Select the available behavior of child organization groups that exist below the currently selected organization group. Inherit only means child OGs are only allowed to inherit these settings. Override only means they override the settings, and Inherit or Override means you can choose to inherit or override settings in child OGs that exist below the currently selected OG.

Device Ownership Type

Select the ownership types you want to require enrolling with the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub enrollment method. Navigate to Groups & Settings > All Settings > Devices & Users > Microsoft > Windows > Intelligent Hub Application to assign a device type.

Publish Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub

Enable to use the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub for Windows devices to configure device security and protection settings. Enabling this setting allows you to initiate the Repair Hub and Request Device Log features from the Workspace ONE UEM console.

Intelligent Hub Version Control for Windows

Administrators manage Intelligent Hub installation on both Win32 and ARM-based Windows devices, enabling independent updates without manual download or upload steps. This feature decouples Intelligent Hub updates from Workspace ONE UEM console releases, allowing administrators to access new GA and Beta builds when the build is available. Manual download and upload of Beta versions are no longer required, streamlining testing and evaluation processes. Unified version control ensures consistent and streamlined Hub deployment across all hardware architectures.

To designate a specific version of the Intelligent Hub on your Windows devices, perform the following steps:

1. Navigate to Groups & Settings > All Settings > Devices & Users > Microsoft > Windows > Intelligent Hub Application.

   

2. On the Intelligent Hub Application page, select the Current Setting as Override and select the Use Intelligent Hub version control check box to select a specific version of the Windows Intelligent Hub version that you want to deploy.

3. On the Intelligent Hub Target Seeding page, select Select the Intelligent Hub Channel as General Availability or Beta based on the release availability. In this example, General Availability release is selected. Note: Intelligent Hub version assignment at the Organizational Group (OG) level is enabled.

6. In the Deploy specific GA Intelligent Hub version select the Intelligent Hub version to be deployed.

7. Click Save to save the Intelligent Hub Application settings.

Note: When administrators select a different Intelligent Hub version, the change may take up to 4 hours to propagate and apply to new OOBE enrollments or Hub updates on existing devices.

Administrators can configure OGs to effectively manage which version of the Intelligent Hub is installed on the Windows devices. For production OGs, a specific version can be assigned to ensure consistency across all devices. Conversely, test OGs can be configured to use the latest available version (GA or Beta) to validate new builds. Once validation is complete, the production OG can be updated to the newly tested version.

The Intelligent Hub version configuration changes are applied to the Windows devices based on the following rules:

• Newly Enrolled Devices: The version setting applies immediately to devices enrolling after the configuration change, including those using Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE) and Autopilot.
• Existing Devices: Devices running an older version will automatically update to the assigned version within 48 hours.
• Version Downgrade Policy: Devices that are already on a newer version will retain their current version. Intelligent Hub does not permit you to downgrade to an earlier version.

If Intelligent Hub Automatic Updates was enabled before the feature activation, the new version control setting will be automatically enabled. In this case, the version will default to the latest available version, retaining the existing update behavior. If the original automatic update setting was disabled, the new version control option will also remain disabled.
