Omnissa Horizon Console and Omnissa Horizon Connection Server

Horizon Console provides a Web-based management interface for Omnissa Horizon 8.

Horizon Connection Server can have multiple instances that also serve as replica servers. Typically a Horizon Connection Server and associated replica servers have a single Horizon Console. Depending on your Horizon 8 deployment, you can get a Horizon Console interface with each instance of a Horizon Connection Server. For ease of management, Omnissa recommends configuring one Horizon Console interface per Horizon 8 pod, which consists of a Horizon Connection Server and associated replica servers.

Use the following best practices to use Horizon Console with a Horizon Connection Server:

  • Use the host name and IP address of the Horizon Connection Server to log in to Horizon Console. Use the Horizon Console interface to manage the Horizon Connection Server, and any associated replica servers.

  • In a pod environment, verify that all administrators use the host name and IP address of the same Horizon Connection Server to log in to Horizon Console. Do not use the host name and IP address of the load balancer to access a Horizon Console web page.

  • To identify the CPA pod or cluster name of the Horizon Connection Server you are working with, you can view the pod or cluster name in the Horizon Console header and in the web browser tab.

Note: If you use Omnissa Unified Access Gateway appliances, you must use the Unified Access Gateway REST API to manage the Unified Access Gateway appliances. For more information, see the Unified Access Gateway Deployment and Configuration Guide available at the Unified Access Gateway documentation.
