Nutanix - Post-Synchronization and Power-Off Scripts

When you create a Nutanix pool or farm, specify one of the following scripts to run:

  • Post-Customization Scripts - Execute once after guest customization is completed.

  • Pre-Shutdown Scripts -Execute every time the VM shuts down, before the machine powers off.

For execution, script executables must be present in the Golden Image. If they are not present in the pool or farm, then the Golden Image that contains the script executables must be pushed.

Requirements

The following requirements must be met to use the scripts:

  • Horizon Agent Version 2603 or later

  • Horizon Connection Server Version 2603 or later

  • Script executables must be present in the Golden Image in any directory in C:\Program Files\Omnissa\Horizon\Agent\scripts\.

    Examples:

    C:\Program Files\Omnissa\Horizon\Agent\scripts\post-custom.bat

    C:\Program Files\Omnissa\Horizon\Agent\scripts\pre-shutdown.bat

  • Script executable paths must be set up in the Guest Customization configuration for the pool or farm.

Registry Keys

When a pool or farm is configured with scripts, the Horizon Agent writes the following REG_SZ values under the Horizon Agent key (guest OS: Windows):

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Omnissa\Horizon\Instant Clone Agent\HorizonAgent\Post-Customization

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Omnissa\Horizon\Instant Clone Agent\HorizonAgent\Pre-Shutdown
