Configure the Subnet for Horizon Agent on Multi-NIC Virtual Machines

Use this Group Policy setting to specify which subnet Horizon Agent should use when advertising a network address to the Connection Server. This setting is useful in environments where virtual machines have more than one network interface.

This policy configures the same behavior as the IpPrefix registry key described in the Desktops and Applications in Omnissa Horizon 8 guide, but allows centralized management through Group Policy.

  • Group Policy Setting Name: Configure Subnet for Multi-NIC Virtual Machines
  • Registry Key: HKLM\Software\Omnissa\Horizon\IpPrefix (REG_SZ)
  • Group Policy Path:
Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Horizon Agent Configuration > Agent Configuration
  • Value Format: CIDR notation (e.g., 192.168.10.0/24)
  • Default Behavior: If not configured, Horizon Agent may select any available NIC, which could result in incorrect protocol routing.
  • Availability: Available starting with Horizon Agent 2506.
