Users can drag and drop data between client systems and remote desktops or published applications.
Client Requirements for Drag and Drop
The drag and drop feature is supported on Windows and Mac client systems.
- Windows: To drag and drop files and folders, the client drive redirection feature must be enabled in Omnissa Horizon Client for Windows.
- Mac: Drag and drop is supported for files and folders with Horizon Client for Mac. For certain file types or advanced use cases, functionality may depend on macOS security settings and permissions.
For information about using the drag and drop feature, see the Horizon Client for Windows Guide and the Horizon Client for Mac Guide.
Agent Requirements for Drag and Drop
To use the drag and drop feature with files, folders, and file content from Windows or Mac clients, you must enable the Client Drive Redirection option when you install Horizon Agent.
Support for Published Browsers (Horizon 2506 and later)
Drag and drop is supported for browsers published as remote applications, including Chrome and Edge on Remote Desktop Session Hosts (RDSH). You can drag files from your computer (Windows or Mac) and drop them directly into a file upload field in the published application. The file is then uploaded as expected.
Using Group Policy Settings to Configure Drag and Drop
You can configure the drag and drop direction, the allowed drag and drop formats, specify allowed files, and the drag and drop size limit by editing group policy settings in the ADMX template file vdm_agent_dnd.admx. The Drag and Drop settings are in the View Agent Configuration > Drag and Drop folder in the Group Policy Management Editor. See View Agent Configuration ADMX Template Settings.
Using Omnissa Dynamic Environment Manager to Configure Drag and Drop
With Dynamic Environment Manager 9.8 or later, you can use Smart Policies to configure drag and drop behavior, including deactivating the entire drag and drop feature. See Horizon Smart Policy Settings.
