Horizon 8 supports deployments on native Amazon EC2. You start out by configuring an AWS account and creating an EC2 instance type and quantity based on your requirement. You then deploy the Horizon 8 server components on the Amazon EC2 machines. You can also deploy additional components as required such as events database, Active Directory domain controllers, or file shares.
Use cases for native Amazon EC2 deployments include deploying Windows Remote Desktop Services (RDS) hosts on native Amazon EC2 to support manual farms and deploying Amazon WorkSpaces Core workspaces to support automated desktop pools.
