Enterprise Reset a Rugged Device, Android

You can enterprise reset an Android device and restore it back to a predetermined state.

An enterprise reset preserves only the applications, configurations, and data that are designated as persistent on the device. If you meet the Intelligent Hub Persistence Requirements for enterprise reset listed below, your device re-enrolls automatically into Workspace ONE UEM after the enterprise reset. Any profiles, applications, and files/actions that you set as persistent through Products are preserved as well.

PREREQUISITES

A device re-enrolls into Workspace ONE UEM after a factory reset and re-applies persisted content only if the devices meet all of the following criteria prior to the enterprise reset:

  • The device must be manufactured by Zebra.

  • The Zebra device must be enrolled in Work Managed mode.

  • The device must have the Omnissa Motorola MX Service 4.5.0.3 or later installed.

  • The device must have Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub and MX Service persisted on the device. Hub and MX Service persistence can be enabled by either of the following methods: - On enrollment: Enroll the device using a Stage Now barcode that is generated from a Device Owner (DO) APF file. - On upgrade: Upgrade Intelligent Hub and MX Service using Workspace ONE UEM Product Files/Actions - AirWatch MDM Agent Upgrade manifest.

  • The device can connect to Workspace ONE UEM immediately after the Enterprise Reset. To achieve this, the device must...

    • ...have a physical SIM that remains active after the Enterprise Reset.

    OR

    • ...have an eSIM or WiFi network that are persisted through the Enterprise Reset.

PROCEDURE

Once you have complied with all the above prerequisites, take the following steps to run an Enterprise Reset.

  1. Navigate to  Devices > List View  and select a device you want to Enterprise Reset.

  2. On the Device Details View, select the  More Actions  button.

  3. Select  Enterprise Reset, located under Management section.

If you do not see the Enterprise Reset option for the selected device, then the device might not be eligible for this device action. See the list of prerequisites for details.

  4. Enter your security pin in the  Restrict Action  prompt to perform the Enterprise Reset.
