A major advantage of using Horizon Cloud on Azure is that remote desktops and applications follow the end user regardless of device or location. Users can access their personalized virtual desktop or remote application from a company laptop, their home PC, a Mac, a tablet, or a phone.
With Omnissa Horizon Web Client, end users can open a remote desktop or application inside a browser running on any device with an Internet connection. Users do not have to install any client application on their device to use the web client.
Note: Horizon Web Client is available with Horizon 8 versions 2412 and later. For Horizon 8 versions 2406 and earlier, Horizon Web Client is called "HTML Access." This documentation page uses the name "Horizon Web Client" to refer to both Horizon Web Client and HTML Access.
End users can also open remote resources using a Horizon Client application that is installed natively on the client device. For a list of supported Horizon Client applications, see the "Client Support" section in the Horizon Cloud - next-gen Release Notes.
The client login process supports user authentication methods such as single sign-on (SSO). After logging in, users can select from a list of remote desktops and applications that they are entitled to use.
For detailed instructions on how to open remote resources from a client, see Launch a Desktop with Horizon Client.
