Overview
Horizon 8 supports the Nutanix AHV Hypervisor platform. Administrators can deploy Horizon 8 infrastructure components on Nutanix AHV, and configure Horizon 8 to integrate with Nutanix Prism Central for provisioning and power management of automated pools. This is supported for on premises deployments and NC2 (Nutanix Cloud Clusters) deployments.
Unified Access Gateway and Horizon Edge Gateway appliances are available and supported running on Nutanix AHV.
Prerequisites
To create automated pools on Nutanix, ensure the following prerequisites are met.

One or more Horizon Connection Servers installed with Horizon 8 2512 or later, and activated with a valid license. For more details, see Horizon 8 Installation and Upgrade. Make sure that all Connection Servers within a pod are created before creating pools or farms. This ensures that Horizon Agents are aware of all Connection Servers for availability and failover purposes. If you add new Connection Servers to a pod where there are existing pools or farms, initiate a push image operation as soon as possible to refresh each VM with details of the new Connection Servers.

Access to Windows Desktop (Windows 10 or 11) or Windows Server (2016 and later) for a golden image virtual machine creation.

The Horizon Pod must be using the new Omnissa ADAM Database application partition naming. For details of how to migrate to the new naming if required, see the KB, AD LDS Application Partition Migration (6000797).

The network used for Horizon desktop pool creation must be mapped to an Active Directory Site. Active Directory Sites can be managed using the Active Directory Sites and Services tool on domain controllers.
Minimum Supported Nutanix Software Versions
The following are the minimum supported Nutanix software versions and suggested versions in parenthesis.
- Nutanix Prism Central 2024.3 or later (7.3 or later)
- Nutanix AOS 7.0 or later (7.3 or later)
- Nutanix AHV 10.0 or later (10.3 or later)
