Nutanix Prism Central - Add a Capacity Provider

Ensure that you have installed the connection server prior to completing this procedure.

This procedure explains how to connect Horizon 8 to your Nutanix Prism Central server, allowing your Nutanix infrastructure to be used as a capacity provider for building and running Horizon automated pools and farms.

Add a Capacity Provider in Horizon Console

1. Go to Settings > Server > Capacity Providers.

2. Click Add.

3. Enter the following:

   • Prism Central Address - The Prism Central Server FQDN or IP address.

   • Display Name - The name that displays for the provider.

   • User Name - The user's name for the provider.

   • Password - The password for the provider.

   Important: Use the following fields to override default operation concurrency settings. Before adjusting these settings, perform a test in a non-production environment to ensure there no negative effects in reliability or overloading of Prism Central.

   • Max concurrent delete operations - The maximum concurrent delete operations to be executed on the capacity provider. The default value is 20.

   • Max concurrent provisioning operations - The maximum concurrent provisioning operations to be executed on the capacity provider. The default value is 20.

   • Max concurrent power operations - The maximum concurrent power operations to be executed on the capacity provider. The default value is 50.

   • Max concurrent maintenance operations - The maximum concurrent maintenance operations to be executed on the capacity provider. Maintenance options include Refresh After Logoff Operations for non-persistent pools and farms. The default value is 12.

4. Click OK.

Note - If a CA-signed cert is not configured on Prism Central, then on the Invalid Certificate Detected warning screen displays. Click View Certificate to view details and accept based on the thumbprint after reviewing it.

Once added, the Prism Central will display in the list of Capacity Providers.
