System Requirements for Horizon Agent for Windows

Before you install Horizon Agent for Windows, verify that the machine meets the following requirements.

Supported Windows Operating Systems

Horizon Agent for Windows is supported on the Windows client and Windows Server operating systems. For the authoritative list of supported Windows versions and builds for the current release, see the Feature Support Matrix for Horizon Agent.

Note: The Horizon Agent software cannot coexist on the same virtual or physical machine with other Horizon software components, including Connection Server. It can coexist with Horizon Client.

Hardware Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 CPUs is required to install or upgrade Horizon Agent from version 7.x or later. 4 CPUs provide optimal performance.
  • For optimal performance, the machine should have at least 4 GB of RAM and 20 GB of free disk space. These can vary depending on the guest operating system and any third-party software, such as antivirus software, installed on the machine.

Additional Software Requirements

  • If the machine has the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package installed, the version must be 2005 SP1 or later. If the package version is 2005 or earlier, upgrade or uninstall the package before you install Horizon Agent.
  • If you install the Horizon Performance Tracker custom setup option, .NET Framework 4.6.2 or later is required.
  • You must have administrative rights on the machine.
  • Active Directory must be prepared. See Preparing Active Directory.

Network Requirements
