Set the Allowed User Access Location for Desktop Pools

The allowed user access location determines the network locations from which entitled users can access a desktop pool. You can set this location for one or more desktop pools at a time.

SettingDescription
Internal AccessAllows access only over a corporate network.
External AccessAllows access only over the internet through UAG.
Internal and External AccessAllows access over a corporate network or the internet through UAG.

You can also set this option for an individual pool when you create the pool. See Amazon WorkSpaces Core - Worksheet for Creating an Automated Full-Clone Desktop Pool.

Prerequisites

To allow external access, verify that Unified Access Gateway is deployed and configured in your environment.

Procedure

  1. In Horizon Console, select Inventory > Desktops.

  2. Select one or more desktop pools.

  3. Click Allowed User Access Location and select Internal Access, External Access, or Internal and External Access.

Results

The allowed user access location is updated for each selected desktop pool. The change applies the next time an entitled user connects.
