Assign a Home Site to a User or Group in Horizon Console

A home site is the relationship between a user or group and a Cloud Pod Architecture site. With home sites, Horizon 8 begins searching for desktops and applications from a specific site rather than searching for desktops and applications based on the user's current location. Assigning home sites is optional.

You can associate a global entitlement with a home site so that the global entitlement's home site overrides a user's own home site when a user selects the global entitlement. For more information, see Create a Home Site Override in Horizon Console.

Prerequisites

Procedure

  1. Log in to the user interface for any Connection Server instance in the pod federation.

  2. Select Users and Groups, click the Home Site Assignment tab, and click Add.

  3. To filter the users or groups based on your search criteria, select one or more search criteria and click Find.

You can select the Unauthenticated Users check box to find unauthenticated access users in the pod federation.

  4. Select a user or group and click Next.

  5. Select the home site to assign to the user or group from the Home Site drop-down menu.

  6. If you have a URL configured, you can select the Enable Redirection checkbox. This will redirect users from a connected site to their designated home site without having to reauthenticate through the Unified Access Gateway.

  7. Click Submit.

Note: If changes were made in the certificate, you may have to wait up to two hours after upgrading for redirection to occur.
