This topic elaborates on specific device actions available in Workspace ONE UEM, providing in-depth detail that helps you understand and use the actions effectively.
Cancel Wipe
The Cancel Wipe action helps administrators stop a device or enterprise wipe command that was issued unintentionally or to the wrong devices, provided the device has not yet processed the command. The action appears in the More Actions drop-down menu in the Device Details View page of the selected device only when all of the following conditions are met:
- The administrator has the required Device Wipe or Enterprise Wipe permissions to perform the cancel wipe.
- A wipe command has been issued to the device.
- The wipe command remains in a queued (pending) state without being processed by the device. When executed, the Cancel Wipe action removes any queued wipe commands from the command queue.
Successful Cancel Wipe executions are recorded in two places on the Troubleshooting page. The Event Logs tab captures the action at the time it is executed, while the Commands tab confirms that the execution was successful.

If the device has already received or begun processing the wipe command, the Cancel Wipe action fails, a failure message is displayed to the administrator, and the wipe operation continues on the device.

Freeze Mode
Freeze Mode gives administrators a simple way to pause resource delivery on a specific device temporarily. When troubleshooting resource delivery issues, ongoing install and removal actions can interfere with the investigation. Freeze Mode removes that interference by blocking those actions at the device level.
When you place a device in Freeze Mode, Workspace ONE UEM pauses all Modern SaaS automated (Desired State Management (DSM)) resource deliveries, including direct app and profile assignments and uninitiated workflows. Freeze Mode does not affect legacy delivery flows, such as Product Provisioning, or manual actions forced from the Workspace ONE UEM console. This means that troubleshooting can continue without restriction.
You can activate Freeze Mode directly from the Device Details page. When deactivated, all blocked actions resume automatically on the next device check-in.
This feature is useful when you want to investigate device issues, prevent the delivery of faulty profiles, or stop unwanted changes without permanently altering resource assignments.
To activate Freeze Mode on a device:
-
Navigate to Devices > List View and select the device on which you want to pause the automated actions. The Device Details page is displayed.
-
On the Device Details page, click the More Actions drop-down menu and then select Activate Freeze Mode. A confirmation prompt is displayed.

-
Confirm your selection.
After you activate Freeze Mode, a message appears on the Device Details page indicating that Freeze Mode is activated for the device. Workspace ONE UEM logs this action in the Event Log page.

To deactivate Freeze Mode on a device:
On the Device Details page, do one of the following:
- Click the More Actions drop-down menu and select Disable Freeze Mode.
- Click Disable Freeze Mode in the message indicating that Freeze Mode is active.
Workspace ONE UEM resumes all paused automated actions.
