Installing Horizon Agent

Horizon Agent must be installed on a machine before Horizon Connection Server can communicate with and manage that machine as a remote desktop or as the source for published applications. Horizon Agent is available for several operating systems, and the installation procedure, supported features, and system requirements vary by platform.

Refer to the following topics to install Horizon Agent on the operating system used in your deployment.

  • Installing Horizon Agent for Linux- Describes how to prepare a Linux machine, install Horizon Agent using the Easy Setup Tool or the tarball/RPM installers, install optional features such as Real-Time Audio-Video and USB Redirection, configure a FIPS-compliant machine, and upgrade or uninstall Horizon Agent.

  • Limited Availability: Installing Horizon Agent for macOS - Describes how to install Horizon Agent on physical Apple Silicon Mac machines running macOS Sequoia or macOS Sonoma.

Important: This feature is in Limited Availability starting in Horizon 8 version 2606 and supports physical machines only. Virtual machine deployments, instant-clone and linked-clone desktop pools, and published applications are not supported in Horizon 8 2606.
