Configure Horizon to allow agent installation on unmanaged machines without requiring administrator credentials. This machine credential pairing method requires you to pre-register machines in Horizon Console before installing the Horizon Agent.
The following deployment scenarios are supported by Agent Credential Pairing:

Enterprise deployments using Group Policy (GPO)

Agent Auto Update (AAU) deployments

End-user self-service installations
-
Physical machine and non-vSphere virtual machine deployments
Prerquisites
The following requirements must be met before you register machines for machine credential pairing pairing.
| Requirement | Description |
|---|---|
| Active Directory | The machine must be joined to an Active Directory domain. |
| Horizon version | Connection Server 2512 or later. Horizon Agent 2512 or later. |
| Operating system | Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). Windows Server 2019, 2022, or 2025. |
| Network connectivity | The machine must be able to communicate with the Connection Server. |
| Administrator role | You must have the Administrators role in Horizon Console to register machines. |
Procedure
Before you install the Horizon Agent on an unmanaged machine, you must register the machine in Horizon Console. The Connection Server uses the machine's Active Directory computer account to verify the pairing request during agent installation.

In Horizon Console, navigate to Settings > Registered Machines.

Click Ready to Pair.

Click Add.

From the Domain menu, select a domain or Entire Directory to search all domains.

In Name/Machine Name field, select a filter and enter the search criteria. For example, select Starts with and enter a computer name prefix.

Click Find.

Select one or more machines and click OK. The selected machines appear in the Ready to Pair list.
You can now install the Horizon Agent on these machines using machine credential pairing.

Optional: To remove a machine from the Ready to Pair list, select the machine and click Remove.
