You can shut down one or more virtual machines directly from the Horizon Console. This will attempt a graceful operation system shut down, before falling back to a hard power-off. This feature debuted in Horizon 8 version 2406.
Procedure
- From Horizon Console navigate one of these ways:
- Select Inventory > Desktops > Machines tab
- Select Inventory > Desktops > Machines (Instant Clone Details) tab
- Select Inventory > Machines > vCenter tab
- Select one or more machines to shut down. Note that you can also shut down a block of machines, but at least one machine must be in an Available state.
- From the More Commands drop-down, click Shutdown.
- Click OK to confirm the shutdown of the selected desktop(s).
A confirmation banner displays indicating that the shutdown process was initiated successfully.
Results
The selected machines are shut down. The network selections of the virtual machines will be preserved.
