What is Commerce Portal
Commerce Portal is a cloud-based service that enables commerce for all Partner Connect Program partners across all program tracks - Rental, Managed Services Provider (MSP), Independent Software Vendor (ISV), and Professional Services.
Commerce Portal replaces iAsset Business Portal which is now deprecated.
A Cloud Services Provider is an Omnissa partner who enters into a Cloud Services Provider relationship with Omnissa through a Partner Connect Program commit contract and gets access to consume Omnissa products on a pay-as-you-go, pay-as-you-grow monthly subscription model. Optionally, Cloud Services Providers can purchase Omnissa-hosted Cloud Services (called Managed Service Offerings) to become a Managed Services Provider (MSP).
An Aggregator is a partner who signs up for the Partner Connect Aggregator program. Aggregator partners facilitate a successful partnership with Omnissa by offering benefits, such as the opportunity to procure and distribute Partner Connect Program Product License points to Cloud Services Providers. This enables Cloud Services Providers to provide hosted IT Services. In addition, there is an option for Aggregator partners to receive orders and payments for Cloud Services from Cloud Services Providers who are Managed Services Providers.
Partner Connect Program billing and reporting
All Cloud Services Provider partners who participate in Partner Connect Program have their monthly billing processed in Commerce Portal. Cloud Services Providers use the service to get a consolidated view of their business with Omnissa and view, report, and submit their usage on a monthly basis to their Aggregator.
Once the monthly bills are processed and the invoicing is done, Cloud Services Providers get visibility of their consolidated bills across one or more contracts they have with Omnissa.
Cloud Services Providers can request adjustments as needed through their Aggregator. Optionally, Cloud Services Providers can also request and get access to additional software licenses through the one-off order process.
Aggregators use Commerce Portal to manage the contracts they have with Cloud Services Providers and to support the automated collection and processing of monthly billing orders.
AWS Resell for Managed Services Provider partners
The AWS Resell product family of the MSP track allows Cloud Services Provider partners to purchase Omnissa Cloud on AWS directly from AWS who acts as the Aggregator for all AWS Resell commit contracts in Commerce Portal.
Cloud Services Provider partners interested in transacting this offering must onboard a new dedicated AWS Resell Cloud Services Provider organization even if they already have a regular Cloud Services Provider organization.
