Desktops and Applications in Omnissa Horizon 8

This guide is specific to Horizon 8 2512. This guide describes how to set up Windows and Linux machines for use as remote desktops in a Horizon 8 deployment. With the Horizon Agent software, you can create and provision pools of single-session desktops. You can also deploy pools of desktops and applications running on multi-session hosts such as Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS).

The following screenshot depicts the Adminstration Console's Desktop Pools UI page in the background with the Horizon Web Client in the foreground with the icon of one of that pool's desktops. Note: Horizon Web Client is available with Horizon 8 versions 2412 and later. For Horizon 8 versions 2406 and earlier, Horizon Web Client is called "HTML Access". This page uses the name "Horizon Web Client" to refer to both Horizon Web Client and HTML Access.
