Pre-defined Lifecycle Stages of an App Volumes Package

App Volumes has pre-defined lifecycle stages. Additionally, a custom lifecycle stage can be defined as per application lifecycle management requirements. Whether pre-defined or custom, these stages provide information about the state of delivery of the package. You can assign a lifecycle stage to a package at the time of package creation, edit, or update.

For information about defining a custom lifecycle stage, see Create a Lifecycle Stage for an App Volumes Package.

The following are the pre-defined stages of a package:

  • New
Package is ready to be tested. Users who are signed up for testing this package are assigned this stage

  • Tested
Package is ready to be published. Users have tested this package

  • Accepted
Package is approved by designated application owners or release authorities for production use
Note: This stage is available only for a fresh installation of App Volumes 2606 and later.

  • Published
Package is published for assigned users

  • Retired
Packages that are no longer required or updated. Entities can still be assigned to Applications with retired packages

To create a package, see Create a Package for an App Volumes Application.
