As an Owner in Omnissa Connect, you control access to your organization and its resources by adding users in the Administrator area, assigning them roles-based access with Organization and Service roles, and inviting them to your organization.
Limitation
- The UEM Service role assignments in Omnissa Connect override role assignments made in the Omnissa Workspace ONE UEM service.
- You cannot add or change the permissions of a Service role in Omnissa Connect because they are native to the Omnissa service.
Add and invite admins to your organization
As an Owner, you invite users (also called admins) to your organization and you grant them roles-based access to the services associated with the organization and the associated Omnissa services. Invitations are valid for up to seven (7) days so you can track the invitations you send. If you have sent an invitation in error, you can revoke it.
For details about roles in Omnissa Connect, see Roles.
Other services have Organization Groups
When you add admins or groups, the wizard sometimes prompts you to select an organization group. This behavior displays when the service uses organizations to group users and resources. You can select single or multiple organization groups.
Access the topic Organization Groups for an explanation of organization groups in UEM.
Add admins
Add admins to your organization, assign them roles, and send them email invitations to join your organization.
- In Omnissa Connect, go to Administrator Access > Administrators.
- Select Add.
- On the Add administrators page, enter the following information.
- In the Type User Emails area, enter the email address of the admins you want to add to your organization.
You can add more than one admin at a time by separating email addresses by comma or entering each email address on a separate line. - In the Assign Organization Roles area, assign the admin an Organization role.
- In the Set Omnissa AI Preferences (Optional) area, do one of the listed actions to opt-in or opt-out of using Omni, an AI conversational assistant.
- Leave the checkboxes deactivated to opt-out of using the AI tools.
- Activate the checkboxes so that the applicable admins can use the Data Analysis tool and the Knowledge search.
- Data Analysis: Requiring a premium Omnissa Intelligence subscription, this tool helps define queries using natural language to generate reports, identify trends, or create dashboard widgets.
- Knowledge search: Requiring Omnissa Connect and Omnissa Workspace ONE UEM subscriptions, this tool searches Omnissa product documentation, technical resources, and knowledge base articles to answer task-related questions.
- In the Assign Service Roles > All services area, assign the admin Service roles that the system applies across all Omnissa services.
- The available Service roles that the system can apply across all Omnissa services are Super Admin and Read Only.
- If you assign the admin the Super Admin role, you do not have to assign specific services because this role has access to all functions and services in the organization.
- In the Assign Service Roles > Specific services area, select each service and select the check boxes to all the Service roles you want to assign to the admin.
- For the Access tab, select the Access tenant in which you want to assign Service roles.
- For the UEM tab, select an Organization Group (similar to a business unit) that includes the UEM service role configurations.
- In the Data Access Policy area, assign the admin (an Intelligence Analyst) a DAP if you want to control the data the admin sees in dashboards and reports.
- If you select No data access policy assigned, the Analyst can see all data in Intelligence dashboards and reports.
- In the Service roles expiration area, assign a set time for the admins to have these service roles or set No Expiration.
- In the Type User Emails area, enter the email address of the admins you want to add to your organization.
- Select Add to send an invitation to the user.
- The invitations you send are valid for seven (7) days.
Work with pending invitations
See admins who have not accepted the invitation to join the organization so you can take action within seven (7) days, either by resending the invitation or revoking it.
- Go to Administrator Access > Pending Invitations.
- Select the check box beside the admin you'd like to act on.
- You can use the Resend Invitations button or use the Revoke Invitations button.
- Resends: The system resends the invitation to join the organization.
- Revokes: The activation link in the email is revoked and the person to whom you sent the mail cannot sign into the service.
Edit admins
You can edit the roles-based access assigned to admins in your organization.
Note: When you make changes to admins, it might take up to 30 minutes for the changes to take effect in the organization.
- In Omnissa Connect, go to Administrator Access > Administrators.
- Select the double arrow next to the admin you want to edit.
- Select Edit Roles.

- In the Edit Roles window, make the changes to roles-based access.
- Select to Send the user an email notification about the role assignment so that the admin knows their roles-based access has changed.
- Save your edits and trigger the system to send the email notification.
Change DAP assignment
You can change or remove the DAP for Intelligence Analysts and for DAP-compliant custom roles. If you remove the assigned DAP, the admin can view all data. Changes made in Connect are reflected in the Intelligence console.
Notes:
- You cannot make changes to DAP settings in Connect. You must edit DAP settings in Intelligence.
- The current implementation does not support changing DAPs for groups.
- The current implementation does not send an email to the admin when you make DAP assignment changes or removals.
- If Analysts are later assigned to groups with roles and permissions that let them view specific data, Connect cannot enforce the assigned DAP. Analysts inherit the roles and permissions in the new, assigned group.
- In Omnissa Connect, go to Administrator Access > Administrators.
- Select the double arrow next to the admin you want to edit.
- Select Edit Roles.
- Scroll down to the Data Access Policy section.

- Make a selection.
- To assign a different DAP to the admin, select the drop-down menu option and select the policy you want to assign to the admin.
- To remove the DAP assignment, select No data access policy assigned.
- Save your changes.
Remove admins
Remove admins from accessing your Omnissa services by removing them from the Administrators list view.
- In Omnissa Connect, go to Administrator Access > Administrators.
- Select the admins you want to remove.
- Select Remove to permanently remove the admin or admins from your organization.
Export admins
Owners and Administrators can export admin details from the console as a CSV file to their local machine. Other roles cannot export admin details.
- Export all administrators: If you do not select specific admins and you select the Export button at the top of the Administrators list view, the CSV file includes all admins in the organization.
- Filter and export: To help find applicable admins to export, expand and use the filters and search by name, email address, or account identifier.
