To patch a pool of automated desktops, you can use the push-image operation for a rolling patching process with minimal downtime.

Schedule a Push-Image Update

  1. In Horizon Connection Server, navigate to Inventory > Desktops > Maintain > Schedule.

  2. Select the Image based on the following.

    • Golden Image - Select New.

    • Image - Choose the updated image to use.

    • Snapshot - Select the desired snapshot version.

  3. Select the appropriate Compute Profile.

  4. In Network Settings > Network Adaptor, choose the network for desktop connections.

  5. In Advanced Settings, update the following:

    • Destination Cluster - Use current cluster or select a new one.

    • Guest Customization

      • Domain - Change if needed.

      • AD Container - Modify as required.

      • Allow Reuse of Existing Computer Accounts - Enable if applicable.

      • Customization - Select your customization specification.

  6. In Scheduling, update the following:

    • Schedule Update

      • Update Type - Choose the update behavior (for example, Immediate, Scheduled, etc.)

      • User Logoff Option - Define how user sessions should be handled.

    • Grace Period Details

      • Logoff Time - Enter a specific logoff time.

      • Logoff Message - Provide a user-facing message.

  7. Review all selections and click Submit to schedule the update.
